I have a 08 1125r with a D&D pipe. I have had MANY issues with the bike, some are the normal blinkers, clutch etc. But it runs BAD. I am getting these errors ECM Error P0122 TPS SYS ERROR P0192 FUEL SYS ERROR P1151 TIPOVER SYS ERROR P0503 VSPEED SYS ERROR P0112 IAT SYS ERROR P2229 BARO SYS ERROR All that caused by the exhaust system? Stock exhaust still shows same errors AFTER they cleared the codes. What do I do now? They say it's my fault. |

So you would agree this is NOT caused by the exhaust? Next dealer is 45 minutes or so away and I don't think it will run long enough to get there. |

If you like LOOOOUUUUUD!!!! then this pipe is for you. I love the sound. Sounds like nothing else on the road. No regrets other than the dealer blaming it. |

Also, I have had my D&D on my 1125r (2008) since mile 620. It now has almost 9000 miles on it. No problems. My dealership likes my bike because it sounds like a monster. The service manager loves it when I stop by. |

Sounds like an electrical problem. Ground maybe? |

Yeah is shorting out somewhere... Tipover and vspeed aren't related to the exhaust in any way. |

Bigblock352, you say its loud. how does it compare in loudness to an xb 1200 with a jardine or similar pipe on it? just curious. my firebolt has the jardine. sometimes too loud. but i still love the way it sounds. especially at idle. thanks randy |

Have them DOCUMENT for you how a muffler swap caused (or even contributed to) each of those problems. That's nuts ... Mike |

A good service department can trouble shoot around any modification you have made. Ask CCRyder. Every time he comes in, they ask "what new thing have you added since the last trip?" |

sounds like either an open sensor ground between the ecm and the splice, or a short to ground in the 5 volt supply between the ecm and any of the listed sensors. a sensor that is internally shorted to ground can cause the same thing. pretty easy to diagnose if the problem is present at time of diag. complete bullshit to blame exaust for this condition unless the new exaust has rubed the wiring somewhere. |

Bigblock352, quick question. Did you just recently have the 062 flash done on your bike? I'm starting to think it might not just be you. Yours, Chuckc and mine are showing some codes, but nothing seems to be wrong. It runs fine. I don't have the list of them all, but the ones you listed seem like the same as mine. I have been running a stock pipe for the last 2 weeks, had the flash done in that time. Codes showed up that day, after the flash. CEL came on also, but went off a short time later. I seriously doubt it's your pipe causing the issues. |

D_adams I just had the flash done a week ago. All the errors came after. The problem "SHOULD" be resolved now. A "resistor" was changed and now no more errors. It looked like a relay to me. A little black square that plugs in. The buell tech told me that since the 062 flash he has gotten a few come back with the same issue and the resistor seems to fix them. I asked why a flash would cause a resistor to go bad. He had no answer. So for know it's ride it and if I start getting errors again they will replace the ECM. Dragstang: I have not heard a xb12 with a jardine, but I can probably safely say that this D&D is louder. It drew a crowd to the windows of the service department at Destination Daytona today when they fired it up. I got lots of "DAMN,that's loud" even from the techs. I love the pipe though. Can you get the part # that they put on? I know of 4 bikes with the same codes now, there will most likely be more. |

Maybe a bad flash? What if you had them reflash the bike? That's just a guess. If it were me I would be asking for a new ECM. Did you have any issues before the new flash(with 05z)? |

The "Black Square" is actually the starter relay. Not sure how that would cause the issue you are seeing. Like it was stated above, you could have a problem with your sensor ground wiring. The IAT sensor does not utilize the +5V line, so unless you have two separate problems, the +5V line is likely not the issue. Those errors could also pop up if the bike was keyed on with the grey ecm connector unplugged. Do those codes remain current, or are you seeing them only historic? If they were all current at the same time, the bike would likely not run at all. Those are nearly all of the sensors used by the engine management system to control spark and fuel. If it is a recurring intermittent problem, then I would bet it is a sensor ground problem, either in the wiring or in the ECM itself. |

Sorry, I read some more of the post, and it sounds like he did actually replace the CAN Bus resistor. That won't create or fix any of the problems you described. All that the resistor does is terminate the CAN Bus, basically it provides a physical end to the bus. The CAN bus is only used for communication between the ECM and IC. Most of the time, the bus will still operate without issue even if the resistor is removed altogether. |

The tech's that did the flash prolly FAILED to clear the DTC's after the flash (Latest and Greatest) was performed.... In all (5 1125's, 1 CR), after the flash was performed, I too saw that the historic DTC's listed above showed up.... Cleared them out of the ECM and no prob's since... BTW, there is a screen that states to clear any and all Codes, after the 10 second timeout after the power is turned off.... But this is the first time I have EVER seen any HD/Buell generate DTC's post flash.... Prolly has to do with the new style of program installed... For those in the "Know", email Gary Valine.. He might have an inside on the P's and Q's of the calibration update.... |

How could a Baro error be related to a fuel issue caused by an exhaust. ECM. Look how many Harley's they work on have aftermarket exhausts on them. 99%? Mechanics are like Doctors. there are good ones and there are bad ones. Get a second opinion. |

I have been to 2 in the central Fl area. they both blame the exhaust and when the stock exhaust is back on and it still runs poorly they have no answers other than we will get it eventually. Yea thats nice but I want to ride NOW. I have had the bike for almost 2 months and have only been able to put 561 miles on it! I normally ride everyday, but cant with this bike. So after making my feelings known the dealer has offered a 09 cr, I am sure there will be more $$$ involved though, 08 to 09 I am sure isn't going to be a even trade. |
