Let's be real, if that bike was ready to go, with ABS and a chain drive, there is NO WAY any employee would let it hit the dumpster. That means it's out there, probably been painted black. I'd fly to WI and pay 'someone' for their time to get a good look at it. PM me! |

Obviously, you didn't watch Who Killed the Electric Car all the way to the end. Whatever your politics, they did get every last one of those cars to the compacter except for one for the museum. Kill the symbol, kill the dream. |

It or they will sit in "archive" for years and then hit the dumpster. Every day test mules and first run bikes are cubed, crushed and turned into Miller Light cans for those in WI. Seems stupid but just part of the process. |

It should be noted that this movie is only about 5% factual and is biased to paint GM in a negative light. Notice how they only briefly mention Toyota's failed EV program? |

Phillyblast, That was quite the obvious answer ... guess I should of expected that. My intentions were to draw out a better reason! |

Here is one for example of manufacturing waste. Google Harley Davidson Nova and read how much money was wasted on that project in the late 70s. So image how much money goes down the tubes in todays age. |

Spank, My answer was partly in jest, partly serious, no offense was intended, I'm just a smartass. I'm just speculating, but if you were part of Buell right now, knowing you have this killer bike just about ready to go, wouldn't you make sure that not only do the details of the bike get out to the public (and by extension potential suitors for your company regardless of the official "not for sale" line spouted by MoFoCo) but the fact that this bike is tooling around on the street, essentially ready for production? For one, it embarrasses the MoFoCo - Buell had the Barracuda ready to go WSB racing, two years after the introduction of the first 1125 and they have the XR1200 and a flat black 883? Second if anyone is out there (BRP?) trying to negotiate a purchase of Buell, again regardless of MoFoCo statements to the contrary, letting those companies know that a new bike, one that now has significant "buzz" surrounding it, is ready to go both increases the value and probably assuages some of the "how long would it take us to see a new bike for sale" question any potential new owner of the company might have. |

Shame that HD won't sell the body kit molds - if somebody starting selling it I would buy a set - that alone on a standard R would look killer ! |

Bummer. I was lusting after that model from earlier spy photos. I would have continued to support Buell with another purchase. |
