I washed my bikes yesterday. Now I wish I didn't, I found a ton of new scrapes on my clutch cover and radiator pod. |

I've got a tapping noise on my '09 that's been there since new. Sounds like it's coming from the pipe but I dunno????I can't remember what I stock can sounds like because I put an aftermarket pipe on all my Buells as soon as I passed the break-in. BTW, Mine also has an erratic idle. |

If its a tapping noise "coming from the pipe", you've probably got a loose seal either at the head, or at the header collector where the muffler attaches. Did you seal the muffler inlet with copper hi-temp RTV when you put it on, or just put it on dry? |

This one still has the stock pipe, I just couldn't remember if the noise was common since I always had aftermarket pipes. It just taps or clanks or makes a weird noise more evident at startup. It is in tune with the exhaust tone (I don't know if that makes any sense???) Bike has 480 miles. |
