Apparently the Euro XB12/9 got new headers since '08... does anyone know why? They look much better than ours! The only bad point is that the Uly RSS won't work for them heh

No, if you watch carefully, the shape itself is different... Here is mine for comparison... check the header of the front cylinder, it is much higher and shaped slightly differently on the EURO bike...

Yea Wave, that is what I saw right away too, the polished aspect didnt even cross my mind as the difference. I'm almost positive that that is not the "Euro version" of the XB headers, to my knowledge they are all the same. I have however seen that header before...it was for sale as an aftermarket one on a UK/European Buell site. I will look through my saved links to see if I can find it again because I know I have seen it before, I just can't for the life of me remember which site... |

Thanks guys... these French guys are all over the place this dude is telling me it's OEM, but let me confirm... he also mentioned he only polished them on the bike without taking them off and they look like that... I posted about the factory Uly RSS and they're all stoked, except for that discrepancy... BTW, they have some SICK XBs over there... the US streetfighter scene is a joke compared to what they do to their bikes over there... here are a couple examples:

The European models have a different header and muffler with catalytic converter. There is a Uly scoop that fits them. Oh, and you don't want that header, its is part of the reason the Euro models have 10hp less. |

Nice, thanks Froggy... do you know the PN of that Uly scoop that would fit by any chance? I did not know the Euro models were less powerfull... let me put that in their face lol |

Yep, confirmed, all XB from 2008 and up have a different header over there... Froggy, if you could confirm that scoop PN that would rock. |

I would have to dig it up, I have seen it on one of the instruction sheets that someone scanned and put online. |

Europeans started the whole "streetfighter" scene, If I'm correct, assuming I am since I only used to ride Gixxers (imports). [just now bought a Buell, figured I should buy a piece of history and am bummed I didn't get one sooner]Polished headers are flashy but I like my DEI titanium wrap, easier to mend after a crash. |

yes the headers are smaller 08 on for emissions reasons. the shape is different to equalize the header length i believe a friend of mine has put 45mm headers and a reverso can on his 09, but my 07 is still faster. the 09's do look good in all black, wite the coloured plastics. it would be nice to see one with black headers, as another friend has a black remus can on his. im sticking with my 07 valencia orange scg thanks (Message edited by Mtch on November 13, 2009) |

While Al Gore didn't directly invent the internet, he did help it get its start. |

That statement is pure and simple BULLSHIT.............along with Al Gore invented the "Internet". Please..... do tell us why??? Its pretty much the truth. Fat tired customs stretched and the like are what we Americans have done. Just like apple pie. The UK,Germany and such went after Clapped out Gixxers and converted them. Swept up tails, different headlights and strange body work. |

You also need to remember that in many parts of Europe, they have a graduated system for motorcycles, and you have to earn your way to a higher displacement model. A 1800cc cruiser would be harder to obtain than a GSXR600 from my understanding of the system. |

According to the instruction sheet that came with my comfort kit, yes. I don't have any 2010 euro spec pictures, so I can't confirm. |

As has been told, the European models changed the headers on 2008. It has been a trouble for us, because since then we must to have some special parts, as the right side air scoops, the steering damper... and of course the exhaust. From 2008 we just can offer exhaust from the European manufacturers, as Termignoni or Sebring, because the US Buell's keep the same headers from 2007, and it's diameter is lower... And the most important... because of all the changes done the bike never run as before. The 2007 models were the best in Europe, and from 2008 to now all the clients have had lot of problems with the bikes... Cheers! www.solobuell.com |

The Euro models got skinnier headers, visible in the first pic. |

Sorry, Its not correct at all... Probably the look seems that the Euro headers are skinnier, they're really bigger at its final part, when they "meet" the silencer. All our 2008 and after Euro silencers have a really bigger "mouth" |

whats the deal with the pic of the xb that looks like polished aluminum? the sub-frame and tail section appear to be at a much steeper angle. anyone know the reason for this modification? also the shift linkage is unique. got any info on that? |

Its a Buell- That is a VERY prominent style across seas on basically all makes and models of bikes that have been turned into street-fighters. Lifting the tail can be seen all over. Some people do it for their preference in riding position as it drastically changes it, but most do it strictly for looks. Some raised tails I have seen are nearly vertical. Personally I like the style which is why I built spacers for my tail on the XB to raise it up a bit. As for the shift linkage, it looks like a custom billet setup for the aftermarket rearsets on it, also very trick looking, but no doubt expensive. Actually, the whole monoque top from the tank to tail is likely a one-off or VERY expensive custom piece. I know there is one I have seen that you can buy from an overseas manufacturer that cost upwards of $800, but this one is a bit different. Hope that helps! |
