Called Buell/HD tech support today to ask about the latest flash for my '08 1125r. After some discussion, I was told the correct designator is M3HUS06Z. That's 6Z and not 62. If your local dealer doesn't have this in digital tech, it's because they haven't synchronized it lately with the factory. Also, according to B/HD, it may be because your VIN doesn't match (or some reference about VIN affecting what comes up in DT). Dealer flashed my bike with 05Z. I am comparing the 05Z flash to the 03Z flash that was augmented with the Over Sold Bike S/W (not the expensive kit). In this case, the 05Z tune makes smoother power, has almost as much top end and has better off-cam throttle response. It feels more refined with the 05Z tune. I did the right thing. Hope this post helps. |

on the print-out that came with my reflash, it says M3CHCA062. It's a California bike so I don't know if there is a difference. (Message edited by highlander51 on November 13, 2009) |

So how does the 06 compare to the 05 then? |

+1 more for the 062 - I'm looking at the printout here right now: "two" not "zed" |

I'm curious to see how the 062 flash works as well. My bike runs great with the 05z. So good that I'm not sure if I really want to have the new flash installed. |

I had my '08 flashed yesterday and put a good 250miles on it since. I can't tell a difference between it and the 05Z. I haven't checked to see if the dealer reset my TPS, so I'm going outside to check that in a minute. Overall, it might be smoother down low, not sure if that's my mind playing tricks; gas mileage is on par with the 05Z (43avg cruising @70mph), and it doesn't feel any slower... can't tell if its faster, but I still need to make sure the TPS is correct. I did notice that while in gear, with the clutch out, the engine keeps revs to about 2500rpms. I can chug along in first without touching the throttle. Don't know if the 05Z did that. It does still raise the rpm when releasing the clutch though. That's my initial impression of the 062 flash. |

Got mine re flashed this morning from the 05z to the most current for '08 1125R's M3HUS062 for no charge...much smoother revs at cruising speed and almost eliminated any surging at highway speed. I also noticed it eliminated my tach needle vibration at normal acceleration speeds and fuel MPG went up a few. I have no idea what it did to power at the top end because I had not taken it over 7500 revs until today. After my first service today I whacked it open and I can tell you this...I went almost vertical, looked into the sky and under normal conditions this is a riding position I do not care for...I did find this position allowed the TURD to quickly leave my pants and allowed me to ride stink free for the remainder of the day...YEEE HEEEW!!!!!} |

That turd comment killed me ... I'm immature like that! The first time my bike took off for the sky, I was thinking I should bring along a change of underwear next time. Hold on!! |

Just wanted to clairify that there is a new flash for the 08 the flash is M3HUS062 I work for a Harley dealer (But we don't carry Buell sadly) and just flashed mine today. Had to wait to get it back from another dealer that carried Buells because since we aren't a Buell Dealer I couldn't do my own warranty work for the clutch weeps. Which kind of sucked but hey Not only Did I not have to pay for it I didn't have to do the work. Even though I would have rather done it myself, lol something about someone else working on my bike I don't like Specialy Since they told me when I picked it up that there wasn't a new flash. WOW! |

So has Buell indicated what exactly this new flash achieves? I have the previous most up to date flash (05Z) on my 2008 and it seems to be working pretty good, but I think there is still room for a little improvement. |

Go for it. Mine ran fine before and runs better now. |

Dtx, I've asked that same question (what exactly does this latest flash fix or achieve?) in another thread. Although I like the newest version, the engineer part of me still wants to see "release notes" that explain what was changed from the previous. Curiosity ... Mike |

I need to run my bike over to Bumpus and get the new flash. I'm teaching an MSF course all weekend though, and off to JenningsGP for a track day the weekend after that. |

Just got the 062 flash today, runs better, I'd say, smooth and tractable on the low end, and pulls seamlessly from there. Seems to idle lower. |

With good results of the 062 flash, I would jump on a leftover 08...if I didn't just jump on an 09. |

I had the latest flash done on my '08 today, the code was; M3HEC062. I presume the 'EC' letters refer to European bikes whilst the 'US' letters in the M3HUS062 code refers to American bikes? |
