I just bought mine new (held over from 2008). It had 900 miles on it, I have put about 400 miles on it in the last two weeks and I've noticed an oil leak on the lower right side of the engine, it is coming from a small hole beneath the center cap with the winged horse logo on what I think is the clutch housing. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what is the fix..the bike is under warranty and I don't mind taking it in, but I found it's best to be well informed prior to dealing with H-D service departments in my area. Thanks in advance for any help! |

You've got the well noted leaking clutch cover. There are dozens of posts on it, there is a piston and sleeve kit, as well as revised clutch cover. |

Just go to the dealer and get it booked in, while there get them to do a number of other recalls at the same time. Thanks for the info...especially the recalls. I'd researched on line about the bike and knew they were working on a few "bugs", so I asked the Dealer..slaesman...if all of the recalls had been performed and he assured me they had much too quickly to make me comfortable. The selling Dealer is not local and on my first trip to my local Dealer they introduced me to nice Buell owner who showed me how to run the diagnostics and we found codes so the service dept. checked the bike, cleared the codes and said the bike needed the ECU download, which they did. I have the service manuals on order and hope to be able to figure this stuff out on my own soon. Thanks Again!! |

Sorry I was short. The number I gave is the part number for the kit to fix the dribble. Read the archives and find answers to questions you don't even have yet. My Loretta is getting that kit installed now, she has dribbled since about 600 miles, so that's about 22k miles. Some bikes have leaked so bad they had to get fixed, mine dribbled slow and steady. I have topped off the fluid 3 times. Welcome to BadWeB, I hope your 11 treats you as well as Loretta has treated me. Zack |
