Just wondering about how long you need to let your Uly warm up. it seems with fuel injection you should not need to let it warm up much. All of my suzukis you could start them up and go. However, with my 09 Uly if you don't let it warm up for a minute or two is starts to die when I take off. Once it warms up it is fine?? Any way to adjust it. Seems like it is running too lean??

my 09 starts up and can go straight away although i do let it idle for a bit to get the oil warmed up a bit and around the engine.

you could try doing a tps reset

Idling just wastes gas. Start it, put on your helmet and gloves and go. It will be in a cold enrichment mode while it warms up so it will ride a little funny.

+1 Froggy.

I don't *recommend* going from the start button right to the throttle on an aircooled motor...but the EFI will *do* it. It will hiccup and cough and sneeze, but that's because it's in coldstart mode (i.e. computerized 'choke' - running richer than it wants because it's cold).

I always - hot or cold weather - start my bike and let it idle while I'm gearing up. Warm weather needs less warmup, which is fine because there are fewer layers for me to put on. Jacket, gloves, helmet, go. Colder weather, wants to warm up longer, also fine because I have more layers to strap on - overpants, heated jacket liner, regular jacket, helmet, and if it's really cold, the balaclava and the heated gloves.

I start my bikes and let them idle while I put on my jacket, gloves, and helmet. That 1 or 2 min of warmup is all they ever seem to need to be 'ready' to ride.

Actually if I don't let it warm well on cold mornings it gives me fits for several mile, gotta keep it above 3k. I usually let it run while I suit up.

I start and go with no problem at all on my 06'. Every once in a great while it might cough once right after I take off but usually not. The stars were in alignment when they put my ULY together in East Troy. Thanks Elves.

I let my bike warm up until the oil pressure light goes out. Its better to get your engine up to temp asap and off the rich fuel mixture.
I've never had a problem with it not idling right after start up.

My opinion and method, likely not expert but works for me, is to crank the engine, idle for a few seconds then pull away and cruise down the street ( residential lightly traveled) in low gear keeping the engine at 2000 for a couple of blocks then run at light load moderate rpm for a couple of miles. Point is to allow the aircooled engine to warm up with some airflow around it.
