Why are you here? This is the internet equivalent of driving by your ex-girlfriends place after you broke up. Move on. Get over it. Find a new brand to spend your time with. |

Yep. Buying a Buell and living with a Buell is a lifestyle. Go buy a Honda for something bullet proof. I rather push my Buell than ride a Honda. |

I equate most of the issues too idiocy anyway. I have had 3 buell's and never had too do more than regular maintenance on any of them. This is not a coincidence learn how too buy what too look for and how to maintain what you have bought. This person didn't even take the time to say what was wrong. Laughable. Not too mention the Ebonics's. Formulate a thought then type it out. Wow is right. |

I've put 1000 miles on my 1125r in the last month without a problem. The blinkers were out when i picked it up and the dealer did advise me of that. WTY replaced them, no charge. Not one problem other than trying to figure out how to check the oil hehe... My Uly had over 15k put on it this year, lost the cooling fan but that was the only problem. I'd have to say my Buells are as reliable as I could ask for, if your new bike had a few initial problems just hang in there, it'll be worth it. my two cents... dave |

Don't get me wrong I love my buell, but the guy does have a point. No one would accept this if it where there NEW car. I have had my buell for 4 weeks or so 17 days of which it has been in the shop, but for the price I got it for I am ok with that. It will be fixed eventually and until then I have old trusty (2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200) I look at it like this, I wouldn't drive my 9 second drag car to work and then bitch when it over heats |

Ever hear of a comma or when to use too or to? What is ebonics's? I'm no english major, but come on. Don't give a person crap if you're going to do the same kind of crap. The guy is not happy with his bike. He got his point accross. What's the big deal? They are not all great just because of regular maintenance. (Message edited by dentguy on November 13, 2009) |

Mrcjoy8, I've had more than my fair share of problems with my 08 25R, I probably hold the world record for problems with any bike. The good news is once all sorted out its a great bike. Everyone that I know think I'm crazy because I just bought an 09 Uly and got rid of a Honda. So far the Uly has been problem free with more than 700 miles on it now. |

Funny thing is, the only time I have ever pushed a Buell was because I ran out of gas. I can't say the same about a Honda though. I got something like 60k miles combined over all my Buell's, no major issues. A burnt out bulb and a few other odds and ends. Actually, I snapped a belt on my XB right by my house, so I don't know if that really counts as pushing because it was mostly downhill. |

The biggest problem I'm having is getting any real work done since the damn thing showed up. I can't stay off of it! I also have problems keeping the front wheel on the ground, but I think that's rider error Mike |

MarcJoy8, posting your unhapiness here serves no purpose, and will not get you any sympathy from this crowd. This is a Buell enthusiast board and the attitude is either love the brand or leave. I am sorry you are unhappy with your bike, I have been there. The only thing to do is to move on, which is what I did. I would recommend that you simply sell your bike but with the rebates on new 1125's it might be best to donate it to a charity and take the tax write off. You might think that you can trade it in on a metric bike, that might be possible but do not be surprised if the dealership simply does not want it at any price. You might get a trade at your HD(formerly Buell) dealership. Good luck |

MarcJoy8, Budo speaks the truth vis-a-vis the sympathy vote. I remember the problems he had with his tuber back in the day, and if I had all those issues with my S2 or Blast I would have moved on as well. That said, what were/are the problems? What has the dealer done to mitigate/repair these problems? Have you contacted Customer Service? Your profile list a fuel pump, and heat management as issues. Anything else? Heat is actually easy - something as simple as the gripskins (sp?) on the tank/frame will help with that. Also reports are the latest flash helps as well. I wear an Aerostich year round. So the frame doesn't bother me. Hot? Try getting stuck in traffic on a DRZ400 in 98 degree heat! High pipe with a layer of tinfoil as a heat shield. I though my ass was on fire (yes I was wearing the stich over jeans at the time!) Have you tried another dealer to see if you get a better response? The folks around here tend to be problem solvers. Simply saying "My Bike Sucks" or worse, as you phrased it "we are having way too many problems" won't get you any sympathy and probably will earn you a FO and thanks for all the fish. My problems with my 3 Buells over the last 10 or so years have been largely self-inflicted. Warranty issues have been minor and insignificant so far - rocker box gasket years ago, and now turn signals on the 1125R. So I don't enter into the "We" category. I've had minor problems for the most part. That said, "we" are willing to help. Again, what are the problems you've experienced? What steps have you taken to try to resolve them? What has your dealership done?(give a location might be closer than you think to a sponsoring dealer who might have a better clue re: Buells). Help us Help You, as they say. David |

MrcJoy8, if you should decide to move on to another brand I have a suggestion. You might shop around for a smaller shop in a smaller town. You need to find a shop that does not know much or anything about Buell, they will just look up the value in their NADA book and should give you whatever the trade in value is. A dealership that is knowledgable is not going to give you anything or will simply not take the bike in trade. After all, new 1125's are going for $6 or $7k, so a used 1125 might be worth, $3 or $4k, selling to an individual, I am guessing. I actually saw this happen in a small dealership in Bolivar Tn. They took a Buell S1 in trade for a Honda CBR. They really had no idea what the Buell was and told me this, they just looked it up in their book and went by the trade in value. Good luck |

Had multiple problems with my old XB12Ss, but after the bugs got worked out it was awesome. Well after ECM flash, cooling fan, throttle body, modded exhaust. Even with the crappiest tires I could find the bike still cornered better that the Jap bikes that I rode with. I hope that I don't have problems with the CR, the only problem that I have now it that it is too freaking cold to ride. got 140 miles on it before the weather went bad. |

quote:They took a Buell S1 in trade for a Honda CBR. Who in their right mind would trade an S1 for a CBR?? I bought my S1 after (most of) the recalls were done, only problems I had were minor and would equate them to "wear and tear" on ANY make of motorcycle. I guess I am in the ranks of a dedicated "Bueller", having just bought an '08 1125r. Even after all the "issues" I have read about, I still bought it and am still looking forward to riding it. Maybe I'm just weird?? |

I put almost 2000mi. on my o8r in 28 days.If it's surging like others say I can't feel it,keep rpm above 3200 it likes it.No clutch oil leak ,still has old o ring every one said leaked.Don't set at redlights with clutch disengaged use neutral,I only use clutch to take off from stop and high rpm speed shifts.Rear blinkers didn't work the day I purchased the bike.Don't like the clear lens look. Purchased small amber signals and relocated when I elimenated the monster rear fender. This bike is like a outlaw sprint car, needs to go ,not pace.Just as much fun as the xb12 just different speed. |
