This looks pretty cool: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motorcycle-Garmin-G PS-Camera-Tank-Mount-Honda-CBR-600RR_W0QQcmdZViewI temQQhashZitem3a548deaa1QQitemZ250526689953QQptZMo torcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Other than the fact that they don't list an application for Buell....... Anybody use anything like this. Can be used for a camera as well, which is super cool. |

I don't see how that would fit our bike without drilling, then then if you got a CR the gauges will make it a tight fit. |

Froggy, They mount to the gas cap. It appears you use the bolts that hold the gas cap "ring" in. Not trying to be a smartass. Did you look at the pics further down the page? Where they show it mounted? |

Yep, and like I said, it looks like you need to drill holes. Also in the case of the XB12S I used in this photo, the dash and bars will probably get in the way.

RAM mount on the clutch or brake master cylinder mounting clamp. Many RAM mount mounts can be made to work almost anywhere. |

Am I looking for a specific Ram mount? I'm not familiar with them. Link? |

http://www.ram-mount.com/ Basically they are a 3 piece system. First you get the mount for your device, say a specific GPS unit. Then you can get the arm piece, which comes in several lengths for whatever your needs are. The final piece is the bike mount. They got several different types including a suction cup, brake reservoir, handle bar clamps and so on. Pricey, but all made in the USA and its top notch stuff. |

No Zumo, but I mounted a Quest II on my S2 using an old FLH microphone bracket/plate. Put the bracket on the front master cylinder bolts; drilled and mounted the Garmin cradle to the bracket; wired it up to the gauge lighting circuit. Should be able to RAM mount a Zumo cradle to the S2 bar-lets, just have it come off the vertical part of the bar above the fork clamp, and angle the mount towards centerline and up. Or, if that blocks too much gauge face, just angle it directly across towards the other bar. Somebody planning to start riding an S2 again? |

If I wanted to connect my gps to the auxillary power plug on an '08 1125R, what size/type two pin connector would I need and would I be able to take a normal 12 volt GPS car charger, cut of the cigarette outlet and splice the connector directly to the end without any problems? I have seen the Buell OEM 12 volt cigarette adapter that plugs into the auxillary power, but I'm not cutting plastic or wanting to have something bulky flapping around! Any suggestions would be great and by the way, I am not mechanically inclined so please be kind. |

There are 2 types of chargers for the GPS that I've seen. My Garmin, for instance - I run a Quest II. My *car* charger - cigarette lighter plug - has the voltage adaptor built into the plug itself, along with the speaker. The GPS runs on 5v, not 12v. The step-down is in the plug, so no, you can't just lop off the plug and wire it up. My *bike* charger setup - also from Garmin - has the voltage converter in the *cradle* - you can tell by looking that there are electronics in there, it's much heavier and thicker. The car cradle is just...a clip with a suction cup. If you go to the manufacturers website (I found it easily on garmin.com) there should be a "motorcycle wiring kit" that will include a bare-end wiring harness, and a regulator-equipped cradle. I wired the bare-end harness to my S2's dash light circuit (I used the Buell kit on my Uly, so it was plug-n-play). It draws next to no amperage so I wasn't worried about overloading anything. On an 1125, it'd probably be just as easy to tap into headlight wiring or position lamp wiring. Just make sure whatever circuit you use is ignition-switched. |

I just bought a ram mount ball, drilled and tapped a 1/4 20 hole in the bottom, bought a 1/4 20 threaded rod, ran it down through the steering stem with a nut and washer on the bottom and use the ram dog bone to mount my Zumo |
