She went from this to this and here's her current (unfinished) state This round of mods includes Custom paint including paint-matched dash, XB wheels (just lack the caliper bracket; wheels will eventually be blasted and polished), NRHS points cover, billet drive brace, billet top tree, Corbin seat (that will eventually get recovered by Loren), Banke shifter arm, Storz (?) steering dampener, Force exhaust (a different one than my previous, not pictured), NRHS Round Hurricaneflow (soon, not ordered yet), and misc odds and ends. I still have a bit more to do, but hopefully I'll have her running again next week. I'd have her running Thursday but the battery is toast and I'm broke, so we'll see what happens. Also those last pics were taken from the mock-up. I have the stuff fitted and bolted on now. |

It says Phelan on the tank, and yes, they are all of '95 S2 #814. I change my bike like hairstyles. |

I loved the bike then, but I had a left side laydown that busted the fairing and cracked the bag and lower. I didn't have the funds for a new fairing, so I sold the bags/lowers to pick up a fairing and matching tank cover and tail. I had the CF front fender at home when I bought the bike and installed it when I got home, and the PMs, CF, and yellow paint didn't match together well, so I traded the PMs for some charcoal M2 wheels and a Forcewinder. I had a Force exhaust I wanted to put on which inspired the trade since the HamCam wouldn't fit with the Force. I got low on funds so I bought a used stock shock and sold the Works to Frank; I even rode to Colorado ilast November to deliver it. All of other parts have came and gone since then, but this explains some of the history of changes. |

Frank, I have not started on the bags yet. I haven't changed anything on the frame, so the bags will mount as usual. Once I finish repairing them, I will paint the lids to match. I told myself that I wouldn't start the bags til December because I need to get the more important parts of the bike done first. Butch, the works did look better, but I needed the funds. I will eventually get a WP shock and have racetech rebuild it, or maybe a Penske if the stars align and I find a deal on one. I saved ~ 4 lbs off the front, minus whatever the caliper bracket ends up weighing. I wanna say about 2 lbs of the rear but no evidence to sustanciate it. |

My Force exhaust came in today . Other than the crack that I'll weld back up, the pipe is in surprisingly amazing shape (especially at what I paid for it). It's always nice for things to work out better than planned. Did I mention that I LOVE these Scorpion Sync tires? They really complete the aggresive look I'm going for. Hell, if I could find a deal on a set of HB bags and topcase from a Uly, I'd probably build a bracket for some of those instead of the standard S2 bags. I've always wondered what a set of paint-matched HB bags would look like on an S2T. Then I could have the complete "adventure sport-touring" look. Maybe... All I know is that I need to have a working set of bags by May so I can carry stuff to Leakey . |
