Hello, well I'm back on a Buell after 3 1/2 years on a FXDX. I had forgotten how much fun its was on my old 12S. Well i picked up a new 12Ss 2 weeks ago and put just over 400 miles on it.Last chance to get a new one so I had to do it. Seems the fan has changed as this tends to run alot more. Also noticed the tick over is a bit lumpy, settles down when warmed up to a steady 1050 then jumps around a bit(up to 1100 and down to 950) before you pull away again.Never stalled on me yet but just seems lumpy if you know what I mean. I haven't tried the steady run to let the bike learn yet but will next week as I will have covered the break in miles by then. Is this about right as things bed in, as I cant remember this on the last 12S. Any thoughts appreciated. |

What year was your S? Probably an older model that had the old motor and fuel injection. The new bikes have different fuel injection, different throttle body with an idle air control, and a new cooling system. The computer controls the idle on the bikes now, and what you describe sounds perfectly normal. Enjoy it |

Yep the last one was a 2003 12S. Must admit I have not kept up with the changes since I have been away. I have enjoyed getting back on one even though the weathers been damp and cold. |

Did they also have discounted prices on new bikes across the pond? Just wondering. Enjoy. |

Did Buell also have deeply discounted prices on new bikes across the pond? Just wondering. Enjoy. |

Bikes were discounted quite a bit so there was a big rush to get them before they were gone. They sold 18 bikes in 4 days. I only went in to see if they had some waterpoof trousers, made an enquiry on price and stock left and came out with a new bike! Wife not too happy but what the hell. I need to let the dust settle before buying a new exhaust, if I can find one to fit over here. Whats the difference on the header pipes? As i have seen adverts that cover to 2007 models but nothing newer. |

Trojan has stuff for the 2008+ models. They changed the entire exhaust system in 08 for the Euro models, I don't know why, but most likely to meet changing emissions regulations. |

I've had my 2009 XB12ss for about 8 months. I have similar running as you described. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/533956.html?1264794646 |
