So I have been riding the two back to back for a few days now and can come up with a few likes/dislikes. 1125CR. 1. This bike sits much higher than the XB12SS 2. When I come to a stop, the heat on my right leg is really really hot after two minutes. 3. I am able to bolt on the 1125R fairings if I buy about $1000 worth of parts. 4. No separate tranny oil needed 5. The Wife likes sitting on it just as much as the XB, maybe more but she won't admit it since she was against me buying "another" bike. 6. What the hell am I supposed to do with 5000 extra RPMs? 7. My right leg (not foot) is still hot. 8. Fans still kick on when I turn the bike off. 9. The extra speedo cluster features are a nice touch. I caught myself looking to see what gear I was in when riding my XB. 10. Gas milage (28 mpg) right now 2009 XB12SS 1. This bike now feels like a cruiser compared to the 1125CR. 2. The front end seems harder to turn compared to the 1125CR. There could be other reasons for this but I just started noticing this after riding the 1125. 3. I like the drummer exhaust on my XB. The stock exhuast on the 1125 is nice too and much quieter. Its a toss up. 4. I miss the acceleration of the 1125 when riding the XB. Maybe I should ride a blast to get the feeling back. 5. I like that these bikes are similar I was able to install the buell tank bag with no problems on the 1125CR that used to be on my XB. 6. The wife seems to slide around more often on the XB. This usually pushes me into the airbox. I didn't notice this on the 1125. 7. The brakes are huge on the 1125CR. Twice the size compared to the XB. 8. I have never warmed up the XB for 6 minutes every time I ride it. I usually just start the XB, put on my gear and go. I kinda hate waiting for the 1125. 9. My XB doesn't leak fuel after riding. 10. My XB is almost track ready since its air cooled and doesn't require changing the radiator fluid. 11. The 1125CR airbox cover doesn't say "American Motorcycles" like my XB what gives? Buell Overall 1. Belts are so nice to have. I make fun of my friends who have chains. I continually ask them if they lubed their chain and tell them they have too much slack. 2. Easier to access parts since the fuell is in the frame. Jap bikes are just so difficult to work on cause they are so compartmentalized and difficult to reach everything. |

I enjoyed that. I came off of an '00 X1, and there's not a lot of comparison I could make. Now that you mention it, I wouldn't mind seeing "American Motorcycles" somewhere around the Buell badges on my 09R. And LOL on the leaking fuel (vent tube) thing - My wife noticed that immediately!! Mike |

I kinda hate waiting for the 1125." Okay, I've obviously been doing something wrong because I just start the 11125CR, wait for the idle to drop down, and then ride off, going gently for a few miles. My girlfriend noticed the same thing about sliding into me. She actually prefers the 1125CR. |

Is there something in the manual that I missed? " The dealer told me to wait till the CT stops blinking "COLD". It can take about six minutes sometimes. I think I have also seen this mentioned in the forums as well. |

Fmaxwell, the ECM is performing calibrations while the display reads "COLD". It is recommended to let the warm-up cycle complete before touching the throttle. On my '08, that is at 151 degrees CT. |

Calibrations when its cold???? My bike runs great and never let it warm up. I have never let my cars/bikes warm up unless its below 0 or super cold. I seen a study years ago that said it is actually worse on your engine letting it idle for that long while running rich, they suggested driving with low rpms and light loads, so thats what I have done since. I don't know about calibrations, thought that was all done when the needle sweeps and all the indicator lights fire when you first turn the key. I do know that the ECM uses a different fuel/spark map while in warm-up than it uses one operating temp is reached. I usually start pulling out of the neighborhood when the CT gets to 50-55C. I often start in Diag Mode so I can watch CT. Zack |

I wait until mine shows a temp, instead of just "Cold". Usually by the time I get on the helmet, jacket, kiss the kids, etc, one of my fans is kicking on at 170. Zack, you don't have to be in Diag mode to see coolant temp do you? I didn't know Diag mode would stay on if I started the bike - That's cool. Mike |

Okay, even on a cold morning (38F this morning) the warm up took very little time on my R. Maybe 2 to 3 minutes tops for the CT Cold to go away. |

Maybe the "COLD" is for emissions purposes. I know the Toyota Yaris has that same feature. ~SM |

The very first ICs would display the CT from the get-go. Mid-year 08s and later, the IC only flashes COLD until op temp is reached. DM works in PARK, Run and RUN(start, then running). As soon as you start moving tho, it drops out. |
