Every year since i bought my Buell I've had the rear shock leak oil come winter. First I bought a second hand one which turned out to be empty as well. I then sent mine of to be reconditioned. This was fine until last winter until it happened again. I then sent the 2nd shock in to be fixed. This has lasted until now. Now its leaking again. Whats the deal? Anyone else have this happen. I assume it has something to do with winter temperatures even though its still Autumn here. |

mine is still leaking as well. Of course the dealers deny it, so I can't get it fixed or replaced. for my own information, how do you know if its empty or too low? |

Ive heard that once you see oil, the gas has already gone therefore its F&^%$ed. Apparently they are of the "unrepairable" type. I found a service guy who can repair the "unrepairable" type rear suspension. Seems to only last a year though. I cant afford to go Ohlins etc. thinking about a Jap-bike equivilent. |

Finding a replacement jap shock shouldn't be a problem. Only issue is that 99% of the jap shocks don't have the remote reservoir. Might be a clearance issue with the piggyback up near the upper shock mount. |

They're Showa shocks. Google rebuild or search on here. Some people have had successes with rebuilds. |
