So the other day I was riding with a couple friends, one rides a Aprilia RSV4 (v-4) hence the V4, and the other rides a effing Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V, but when we stopped to fill our tanks and tummies Steve (the aprilia dude) asked me if I wanted some cheese with my whine. He joked that he thought there were sirens behind us on the road the way my XB12scg whines. The only reason I just now noticed it was because it was the first time I put a db killer in my pipe to avoid attention since most riders here store their bikes during the colder months (pussies) which gives the police more of a reason to pull over a loud motorbike since theres less of them on the road. Any advice would be most undoubtedly appreciated. Btw, are there hydraulic clutches for an XB12scg? Thanks much!! Phil.

Nobody complained about the Batmobile's whine. We all wanted one of those.

Hearing sirens: the guilty flee when no-one pursues but a righteous person enjoys their rest.

I am totally confused, but anyway, yes American Sport Bike has a hydro clutch kit. After riding both my 1125's, I can't stand the cable clutch anymore.

OP, I am not sure to understand the problem... what exhaust do you have that sounds like a siren? (like a police car type siren?)... wth?

Lyndall Golds will "whine" when you hit the brakes. Other than the fan, I have no idea what that would be.

Shit, shit, sorry for the confusion if anyones confused, what I meant to ask was a reason why my engine whines, not the exhaust (its a Termignoni). It usually starts whining when I'm in 3rd going around 45mph and gets louder when I give it more petrol. Anyone reckon what it might be? The noise doesn't come from the tranny so perhaps something with the primary drive? It sounds like I've a turbine engine instead of a v-twin.

I never understood why people thought the fan noise was embarrassing. I always thought it was just a cool technology to have on an air cooled motor.

Hydraulic clutch is nice, no need to adjust it, silky smooth, and it doesn't need constant lubrication to prevent it from snapping. Easily one of the best features and part of the reason the 1125' needs less maintenance than the XB. : )

Thanks for clarifying... you 1125 lobbyist : D

It sure is nice, but you sound like it's a revolution : ) I lub/adjust my clutch cable once a year in about 3.5minutes... I can deal with that...

I saw that video a while back and have watched it a bunch of times and I still laugh my ass off when he peels out and swerves to avoid hitting the parked truck right before running the stop sign and flying down the road.

+1 Sokota.

Check your primary. I adjusted min a few months back and thought it was OK. I heard a "siren" type whine over the next couple of days, once everything was warm. I checked my primary again and it was too tight. That SHOULD be the solution to your problem.

Froggy, any clutch leakage issues or blown slave cylinders one your 1125 yet? Wonder what the % of 1125's have had this problem. Was told last spring by a pretty knowledgeable salesman (he owned a '08 1125r), that '09 models were spared. Fast forward to today and that statement has not held true based on what I've observed discussed on this site by some pretty frustrated owners. This problem never makes any recall lists but must be a very common warranty issue, wonder if there is any good data available on it's prevalence for '08 or '09?

5500 miles on my 09, 500 on my 08. Zero issues except a tail light bulb burt out on my 09 at 5k. The failure rate is high for the clutch weep, but I recall reading it is estimated at 10% of bikes. There is a fix should you get a weeper

It couldnt be something big like somethings clogging my oil lines so my engines not getting the lube it needs, could it? Cause that would be my luck.

I had a loud whine on my VRod, rear wheel bearing.

As far as the fan noise, I tell people it's the twin turbo cooling fans !

They always look closer when I say that....
