I bought this unit on ebay. It is brand new in sealed box. I meant to purchase the 2002-2007 model. Apparently, it's pretty much plug and play (10-15 min install) and is as close to Power Commander as you can get as far as programmability for a fraction of the cost (you can even use PC maps). I want to return it but the guy takes 2 days to respond to my emails and uses 1 or 2 word answers. I'd rather sell it to someone than wait a month to get my money back. This unit is for 08 or newer XBs and 1125s. I'm asking for $190 shipped. derekman@aol.com |

This looks like a great tuner for the price but I am a little concerned about tuning in the lower RPM ranges where our bikes are really lean. I.E. idle-2500 & near 4000. Installation looks real easy as well as tuning. And it just might be the ticket for any aftermarket mufflers, air cleaners, etc. From Daytona's website: "The new Twin Tuner EX version is 50 states street legal (ARB E.O. D-641). Fuel adjustments with the Twin Tuner EX are only allowed above 60% throttle position or 5000 RPM." Then this: Twin Tuner EX Mode Switch Settings Table Parameter Fuel Trim Operating Range 0 Display off – used to prevent inadvertent changes during normal engine operation 1 Wide open throttle 1250-2000 RPM 60-100% TPS 2 Wide open throttle 2000-2500 RPM 60-100% TPS 3 Wide open throttle 2500-3000 RPM 60-100% TPS 4 Wide open throttle 3000-4000 RPM 60-100% TPS 5 Wide open throttle 4000-5000 RPM 60-100% TPS 6 Wide open throttle 5000-6000 RPM 60-100% TPS 7 Wide open throttle above 6000 RPM 60-100% TPS 8 Entire operating range above 5000 RPM 0-60% TPS 9 Acceleration enrichment (0 = none, 10 = maximum) And this: Twin Tuner Mode Switch Settings Table Parameter Fuel Trim Operating Range 0 Display off – used to prevent inadvertent changes during normal engine operation 1 Idle 750-1250 RPM 0% TPS 2 Low cruise 1250-2000 RPM 2.5-50% TPS 3 High cruise 2000-3750 RPM 2.5-50% TPS 4 Wide open throttle 1250-2000 RPM 50-100% TPS 5 Wide open throttle 2000-2750 RPM 50-100% TPS 6 Wide open throttle 2750-3750 RPM 50-100% TPS 7 Wide open throttle 3750-4750 RPM 50-100% TPS 8 Wide open throttle above 4750 RPM 50-100% TPS 9 Acceleration enrichment (0 = none, 10 = maximum) Has anybody actually worked with one of these units to see how they adjust? Its got my interest up though. One last thing I just caught: Twin Tuner Fuel Injection Controller (for 2001-2010 Harley-Davidson® Twin-Cam with 36 pin Delphi® system and 2008-2010 Buell® with DDFI). Not legal for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles. Maybe worth a try. Bob "www.daytona-twintec.com/Twin_Tuner.html" (Message edited by bob_thompson on November 04, 2009) |

One last(?)thing; it looks like, to really tune correctly, you would need this additional unit(below) or have access to and use quite a bit of time on a dyno. "TSCAN2-PLUS-KIT Twin Scan II+ Kit (includes Twin Scan II, WEGO IIID Interface, two Bosch LSU 4.2 wide-band oxygen sensors, two 18 x 1.5 mm weld nuts, two 18 x 1.5 mm hex socket plugs, USB cable, and software on CDROM) $547.50" Now becoming pretty expensive but it looks like, from their website, it can do it all in tuning these great bikes. |

You don't HAVE to have that kit. It just opens up more options is how it was described to me. The USB cable is a must though. Unless you just want to make rough adjustments using the built in buttons and ranges. I think I am going with . |

Patrick(Bigblock352), wouldn't you want to know A/F ratios and then adjust each cylinder for as near perfect tune as you could get throughout the RPM range. How else would you know these if not for wide band O2 sensors and maybe even an exhaust sniffer for total A/F for both cylinders? Only other accurate way I know of is on a dyno from H.P./torque figures. Bob |

recently i spoke with the guys at twinmotorcycles.nl and they assured me if i send my ECM to them they will reflash it and store the best fuell injection mapping for 1125R. the name of guy that i spoke with is dris hammadi and e-mail to him at ( dris@twinmotorcycles.nl ) about the problems with the ECM . Does anybody knows about this , are they right or not let me know if you look into it. |

Bob, I was just stating what was described to me. Don't most of these other options, like the jardine and others work without a "kit" like this. Just a usb cable and some software. |

Your're right Patrick, they do work without the testing involved with "the kit" but they also do not adjust fuel parameters at every RPM, just "RPM ranges". At least one, and probably more have spent the hours on the dyno to produce the best flash or piggyback for either a stock system or one with simple mods. These are the ones I would choose if I were to get one as they do every RPM, not just ranges. Pretty much proven performance enhancers, but it takes a lot of time. To think I could add much performance with out knowing A/F ratios or HP/torque would be iffy at best. Some have tried and I believe their SOTP testing is probably fooling them although some have posted positive results. With Daytona's "kit" you could see each of their ten parameters. Pretty good; that would at least be quite a few RPM ranges. Still not perfect but good. Even my own experience with my own muffler system seems OK, that is no performance loss either real or imagined, but better sound, and I'm probably fooling myself, but I'm OK with that also as it performs well enough at all RPM's for me. I wonder how much dyno time the top racers, like RMR and others, spend to achieve top HP with Buells own race ECM and they do not have to worry too much about lower RPM ranges? Just some food for thought. I guess its all about just what someone wants in the end. Sorry about being long winded. Bob |

I see your point. I am in the same boat as you for the most part. I am not looking for a gain in HP persay. I just want it to idle correctly with the pipe I put on. I think rough adjustments for the RPM ranges will work pretty well for what I am trying to do. Thanks for the info. |

Totally agree Patrick and I just might do the same thing to save a lot of money and have my bike running better also. Keep us posted as to if you do it and what your results are. Daytona's or Jardines Pro tune III look to be able to do what we might need. I'm just on the fence right now as my bike is running very well indeed. Thanks for your excellent input. Bob |
