Anybody know if race parts are still available? Who to contact for stock status? Is Henry still going to be the go-to guy, at least until the December shut-down date? |

Race parts are currently still available, and Henry is the go-to guy for the time-being. As for the future, watch for updates. |

My dealer showed me an e-mail from Buell that stated that race parts will be available through the 2010 race season. Who we will go through is unknown but all the race parts have part numbers on them so I'm guessing you'll order right through your dealer? |

We just bought an 1125 swing arm for our conversion to chain along with the race exhaust. Were told we got the last swing arm they had, not too sure if that is so. Terry - www.jtsperformance.com |

i think that's right Terry. Tom Bumpus was checking on the same piece for me last week and said there were 2 in stock. he ordered 1 for me. i was on the rev limiter on every good lap at Daytona last month and needed higher gearing. not sure about availability of other race items. Terry, are you tuning for race, strip or bonneville? race or stock ecu? tim |

I ordered several race parts today and was told by the Dealer (who was informed by Buell) that this was the last day Buell would be accepting orders for race parts. It isn't clear to me what will happen in the future but the dealer took the message from Buell seriously and made sure the order was placed today. btw... they did not have anymore case guards. Any recommendations on where to find some. Perhaps Anonymous might be able to shed light on the supply going forward. |

It might be time to take your swing arm to a good machine/fab shop and start having them copied. |

Case guards can be ordered from Taylor Made Racing. |

If I recall correctly, the swingarms were ordered in lots of (guessing) a dozen or so at a time. If the supply is out, it might be tricky to get more unless somebody would take the lead and (with permission) go to the fabricator that assembles them. (Maybe Hals???? - Steve????) Aint gonna be cheap. |

In the other thread about H-D and Buell in the News, Court suggested there is no shortage of investors wanting to see Buell continue without H-D. Perhaps there're ways to finance the production of race parts. All we have to do is ask the right people. |

Close . . . but I said "there is no shortage of investment money.", NOT "there is no shortage of investors wanting to see Buell continue without H-D." It's an important distinction.
quote:One thing that has become very obvious is that with the current market there is no shortage of investment money. I had two "just tell me how much" calls on the Thursday the Buell announcement was made.

The list of "potential investors" is GIAGANTIC. The list of investors with the wherewithall to individually pull $10+M into the situation is the list that needs to be put to paper. If each of us who could afford to take out a $100K second on our houses pooled ALL our resources - and we assume that we could actually find 100 or more members who could put in $100K each, we MIGHT start having our phone calls returned. Otherwise, we have to wait for our unknown rich uncle to pass away and leave us his estate. Unless we could pull ^this^ off some people with REAL PULL have to do the legwork. I'm betting we're talking some real money to do this - not some piddling little pile like $10-25M |

Can we buy the Nissin XB race pads direct? I've tried EBC but I really perfer the Buell race pads. If anyone has switched, do you have a few sets of Nissin pads for sale?? |

Well I just talked to Henry Duga and he stated very clearly that Buell Racing parts are no longer available for sale from Buell/HD. It is not that the parts are not available, it is that they are not for sale publicly. He did state that they are currently in the process of boxing all of the remaining parts up to be sold to another party unnamed. His only comment was that hopefully someday this other party would pop up and say "Hey I have all the remaining Buell Racing Parts for sale!" This really sucks, guess I am gonna have a long winter prepping my new 1125R for race duty with Wera next year. hhhhmmmmmmmmm |

rencrn8, leaving future price increases aside, this idea of having all the race parts available outside of [what used to be] Buell might just turn out OK patience...... |

Well I have no choice but to be patient huh. Guess I will have to wait and see what shakes out. Hopefully I will be able to be ready to race by April. |

well, you've LOTS to do to be fully race-prepped anyway, correct? so complete all the basics within the next 3 months - by then, 'what will be' will have become more apparent a small but enthusiastic race parts market exists - 1 or more companies'll step up...... |

We will be at Tally again in 2010 Tim. But it will just be a fun round to break up the winter and shake off the cobwebs! I really don't have to be serious and ready to rock n roll until April... |

I was lucky and got all my race parts except the race ECM. Anybody know if there are dependable aftermarket alternatives to the Buell race only ECM ? Also, heard a rumor that all the remaining race parts were turned over to RMR. |

really, RMR? ponder the 1st year results of RMR's class-winning GEICO AMA race team - ultimate success in the wild cauldron of DMG's ever-evolving environment
based on Richie's personal responsiveness to my twice-expressed interest in a lo-volume "RMR 9/1" sticker, I'd venture that RMR can offer the [currently] limited Buell race parts market a well-managed, dependable & profitable business - oh - since it must be profitable to survive, parts prices will likely increase..... 'who knows' if the race parts rumor is true - it makes good sense [uh oh] ya know, I'm actually smiling again no small thing, 3 weeks after 10/15 |

The intent is to have race parts available after Buell closes this year. The details are still being worked out. Right now, let Henry Duga know what parts you want, and you'll be contacted when the organizational issues are resolved -- which will hopefully be soon. |
