Thanks Kristi...yeah I will post after I get my boots back with the lift on them and tell you how that works out.
I am hoping he can get them done this week.
In Colorado Springs we do not have to many boot cobblers..so sometimes they have your stuff for a week or two.
Yesterday when I took the XB out I had my new boots on ; plus we took the seat off and Frank had an old seat that he had taken the top and the stuffing out of it and just the bottom shell was in it and I was able to ride it ok.
Also what I am doing now is teaching myself how to just put my right leg down completely when I stop and keeping the left foot on the foot peg. That helps when you can't touch completely.
Jumpinjules on the Bad Web..(Julie) and I had a chance to talk at the Harley shop (High Country)last weekend and she gave me some great pointers. She rides Track and has had professional training....so she is a GREAT person to learn from.
I tell you that bike was soooo...much....Fun!, I think I looked cool on it....hee hee!!   |

Kristi, the last thing I wanted to do was lower the bike, it can be done safely though...
Lynn's inseam is about 28.5 inches. I took the preload out of the shock and that was about it. She is shy about 1.75 inches and her new boots will take care of that.
I got an old seat pan and will make it narrower just to give her a little more. I kind of screwed it up today trying to heat it and bend it so I am just going to cut it. The Scg seat is pretty good and I would estimate there is about 1 to 1.5 inches of padding in there.
If Lynn was not able to ride it I would not had been too disappointed. It is the most fun bike I have ever ridden.
Julie, good going. We got a little bit but like Dan I enjoy my time in the garage doing stuff so that is what I did mostly. We did get out for a short ride.....
Unfortunately I did not run into any Harleys on the road to play with. |

I put pic's of the GP shifting on the 1125 board if anyone is interested in checking it out. It worked great.
Here's a pic of the bikes before we left for our ride. Again, WOW. I may need, at some point, to put the high bars on, maybe.

Beautiful day today...I got my 130 miles in on the Uly and might be picking up the new 1125 as soon as Tuesday! |

As an FYI, Dan also made a quick release kit for the seat. It's great, don't have to unscrew them every time you need to get under the seat. |

Well today I took my boots to the cobbler and they can put the lift on...she said just an inch otherwise it would be too hard to walk in like "Frankensten"..is what she said.  ....
The bad part of this is they are so backed up that it will be six weeks....ahg...and 60 dollars per boot. But it will be worth it.
So for now, Frank will just put that seat shell on the bike, so at least I can keep on practicing.
He was just teasing me,saying yeh, I will take the XB out and practice for you....I told him he has 7 other Buells and to leave mine alone!! ...hee hee!! |

It's not fair that they can freely ride our bikes but we can't ride theirs because we're just too damn short to reach! I told Carlos that I think it might be a BadWeB bannable offense to take my bike without my permission while I'm out of town !
I had Carlos measure my inseam tonight...28". It gives me hope since Lynn and Diane are measuring in at 28" and 28.5" that I can move up to a Scg from the Blast when I'm ready.

Lynn, will u keep the boots until she can actually do the lift , cause if so, u could practice with what u have. When I strattle my bike, with one foot on the ground my other foot is about 4" above the ground. Kinda scary but I did better than I anticipated yesterday on our ride. You might do ok without the lift kit.
When u were on the bike weren't u tippy toed, meaning that u could touch both feet somewhat? |

I was just barely tippy toed on the bike....yeh unfortunately I have to keep the boots there....i am hoping they will be done sooner and her estimation was off. When we went riding saturday, I did pretty good stopping and putting down just my right foot...I think Frank will feel more comfortable with me riding the XB once I can touch the ground better.  .....
yeh Kristi,I would tell Carlos and me Frank...no nucky for them,..if they touchy our bikes...hee hee |

Out of curiosity, I measured my inseam the other night. I thought I was at 28" but when Dan helped me measure, I was at a 29" inseam. YEAH, I'm tall  NOT
Hopefully you'll get your boots back soon. It looks like this weekend is suppose to be nice. Time to get the bikes out, again.

Hey Lynn,
I have been wearing modified boots for about 3years now! Awesome choice! I have about an inch lift. They are thick lugs. Love them, I call them my "Kiss Detroit Rock City Boots" Amazing what an inch will do for ya! RIDE ON!

Thank you Kitty, I am so excited about finally having a Buell...I know I will have alot to learn, much different than my Nightster. But it feels good to be part of the Buell family. Buell people.... especially with the guys seem to have a much deeper respect for the women rider, than the Harley guys do for us....and I do really appreciate that.  |

So this looks kind of like a bar where you just walk up and join in on the conversation. Well here I am.....
I live up in the mountains, Gypsum to be precise. Several buddies have been trying to get me on a Uly for a while now and I finally found one at the right price in Tennessee. Frank, aka buellsrule, gave me a great deal on an '08 XT overstock and we made the deal. I had a buddy pick it up for me and as soon as most of the paperwork was done, well the company folded. Ugh!! Oh well, Harley had to do what Harley had to do. I have a Road Glide that I absolutely love so it is hard to hate on the MoCo too much. Business is Business.
Anyway, after a lot of transfers and pickup rides I finally got the bike in my garage about a week and a half ago. Of course the weather went to hell and I did not get the first ride until Saturday last.
Well the bike was running like shite!! No power, no acceleration, lots of sputtering, just a flat out dog. I was cursing everyone from my buddies to Eric himself. After all he signed the damn thing!! I knew that something was wrong and fixable but I was frustrated that I bought it long distance, live nowhere near a dealer and it was a beautiful day and I couldn't make the stupid thing go. All right, so I was gonna get it in the garage and do a couple basic things to see if I could diagnose and treat the problem. I was out running one last errand before I started the wrenching. I was on my way home, all the while cussing everyone associated with this transaction.
I was at a light waiting for a left turn arrow next to a hockey mom in a grocery getter. When the light changed, she accelerated and left me there. {grumble grumble} I was in the apex of the turn and the bike farted twice and suddenly let go!!! I was hanging on by my fingernails, in a power left turn, and the bike carving hard!!!! By the grace of god I kept control, powered through the turn and got square. Pulled her over, checked my drawers, and got my heart rate under control. Bike purring like a kitten, check. Drawers, dry, check. Heart rate back under a hundred, check.
So now deep breath, I swing out into the road and had a ride!!! Nice......This is what they meant....Front wheel can rise now since I am ready. Let her go nicely into that carve. WOW!!! Rode another few miles (nevermind the errands now) and found that I have a gem of a bike and it should be a ball. Accelerates, carves, and is wicked responsive compared to my road sofa. Don't get me wrong I love the Harley but this is a whole different ride, Too bad it's fall and riding is nearly over, but spring springs eternal.
That's my story. Whatever gummed up my fuel system or fouled my plugs is now clear and I am ready to ride and meet some new CBR friends.

Lynn and her bike.
We went out for a 50 mile ride towards Hanover. She is doing better on the bike.
Zac, I am now getting two error codes. Fuel Pressure and Low Fuel. It still runs good so I am going to keep riding it. I will wait until all the error codes come up or till the first service, which ever comes first.
Trying to weed through the 1125 threads is an exercise in futility. The usual answer in the threads is to do a search but of course all that pulls up is more threads that say do a search. I do believe the 1125 threads are the worse the BadWeb has to offer. I think there needs to be a Custodian for each section and at least five of them should be in the 1125 section. |

We had a fun ride today, I rode with the seat on this time and did'nt do to bad, even without the new boots.
The only time it felt weird was when we stopped at the corner of Mark Sheffell and Squirrel creek road, .....its at an incline and there was alot of sand on it, so the one foot down thing just felt wobbley.
I got the bike up to 85 miles an hour...woo..woo... ....well I won't win a speed title, but the bike felt good. 
Frank of course had to fly by me on is 1125R....... |
