Well I'm always looking for an inexpensive way to accomplish something and still have it work out well. Bill(reepitcheap) would be proud of me. A few days ago my wife was going to throw out a well used aluminum skillet and it got me to thinking "what if", so I made what you see below from its .125 aluminum center and its durable. Both sides should work well enough for a slow to moderate low side of fall over from standing. Not real pretty but "function before form", right? And they are fairly well hidden behind my lowers. I do need a better color match on paint though. There are a few case guards out there for our 1125's but they are very expensive and I believe mine will work well enough to save the cases and internals, but not the lowers. Good enough for me. I only do an occasional track day but ride fairly aggressively on the street within my abilities naturally. For me a "just in case scenario" Cost, nothing except about 6 hours labor and I work cheap now. Bob(just passing time)'til the next ride.   | ||

i guess if it's hidden behind some farrings. some CF or billet aluminum would look sharp. i don't know if the above will help to distribute the force evenly or not. at least you got some piece of mind, and at a bargain price too! i never wudda thought to hack up a frying pan.  | ||

Looks like a mini wok. Has secondary uses when camping. Cook dinner, reattach in the morning and ride off. | ||

Well, I've heard it said that the heat emanating from these engines is enough to fry an egg, but I never thought of attaching an actual frying pan to find out. | ||

Maybe a stainless bowl would work too. I know in the turbo community a bunch of guys are using stainless bowls for cheap shields over the turbo.... A frying pan for a case guard...hell why not... Expensive isn't the only way to go thats for sure. | ||

Your fairing covers all that stuff up, right Bob? Not pretty, but if it's out of sight, looks functional. I've seen several scraped up on either side, that looks like it would be a good idea in a low-side. Zack | ||
