Went for a ride this weekend with the lady and going from 3rd gear to 1st the bike would shut off while letting out the clutch. The rear wheel locked up during those times. I was low on fuel but not that low. Any ideas? |

Have you checked diag after this happened might give a good starting spot and it sounds extremely odd and dangerous |

For what it's worth...this is one issue I haven't ever heard of. Diag it... maybe call the dealer and see if there's any tech info on this. Odd indeedly. |

Sounds like the vacuum hose to the slipper clutch. KeS |

Just got my CR on Saturday and put a grand total of about 10 miles on it. When pulling in the clutch and downshifting, the engine stalled on me as well, on 2 or 3 occasions. I thought it was just a matter of getting it broken in or possibly a reflash is in order. Also the neutral light would stay on until I shifted through a few gears, then the correct gear number showed up on the indicator. It would repeat this everytime I shifted into neutral. |

Vacuum Leak in in the clutch assembly? The same thing happens in a car if you pull a vacuum line .. it will stumble and stall. Sounds like clutch disengages - then vacuum leak occurs - then while engine is stalling clutch reengages and the rear wheel basically locks up because of the stalled engine. I am also more conservative when the lady is on the back so it could of been rider error. It doesn't happen when I ride alone. |

How loose does the clutch lever feel? It may just need bleeding to disengage the clutch. |

hey gang ..there was a problem with the clutch piston leaking fluid...check your levels ...and if your low....pulling in the clutch with no fluid means...... let me know if thats the problem ..your dealer should fix that asap. they changed from orings to a special seal. |

Ive had my engine die on 2 occasions under decel. Both times took me a second to realize it wasnt on any more becuase it got really quiet and smooth. I just kit the started with the clutch still pulled in and rode off. Ill probably talk to a tech about it but its going to be hard to duplicate since it doesnt happen often |

Cme2c, While breaking in my 08' R, the bike would also stall for no apparent reason...sometimes in dangerous situations. Now at 3,000+ miles it seems to have subsided. What has not disappeared is the neutral light / gear indicator flickering from time to time. |

When I did a demo ride about 8 mos ago, both an R and a CR stalled on me during braking, I attributed it to them having almost no miles. Taking my bike to the gas station this weekend with 8 mis on the clock it stalled 3 times on braking, again I figured it's just due to having no miles, at least I hope that's the case, once thru break-in and riding agressively i can't imagine how deadly this could be if it continued. Oh, and now I have a dreaded dead blinker, after one mile, lol, it had to happen, oh well, time for a fender eliminator kit. |

I've had the stalling issue three times. 4,000 miles on my bike. The first time the rear wheel locked up just before an on ramp. Scared the piss out of me. The dealer could not duplicate the problem and everything checked out normal with the clutch or anything that could contribute. The last one happened about 500 miles ago. Luckily I know what to do now and can tell if the bike quits. Just pull in the clutch. Hit the starter and it starts right up in motion. Still very dangerous. I got a mechanic that works on sportbikes only been racing for 20 years. He is due to come out to my area in February. If anybody can figure out why it is cutting off like that its him. |

stalling problem - could it possibly be due to loose wiring, like power being disconnected caused by deceleration. |

When I first got my '08 1125R, I'd get semi-frequent stalls on downshifts (with throttle blipping, before letting clutch out). May be a break-in issue, but what seemed to work for me was making sure my battery was fully charged... no longer an issue. |

All mine does is surge a bit between 4-5k, i guess I should be happy. I'm going to get the latest flash installed Thursday and hopefully it doesn't start stalling. Even when the idiot sales man fired it up and blipped the throttle it didn't stalled, but it didn't like it either. |

My 08 did the same at first but quit doing it after 1500 miles. Once it died while I was turning left in front of on coming traffic. |

Just trying to collate the symptoms described, bear with me: Engine stalls under deceleration and clutch in/out? Rear wheel locks up after/before engine stalls?(I know, just being thorough) The bike is either/both 2008 and/or 2009 models? The bike was fully stock and had no modifications whatsoever? The bike had the solenoid removed after purchase? The bike has the same ECM version as it shipped from the factory with? Obviously the rear wheel must be locking up due to the engine stalling first. But we do need to rule out the accidental rear brake engagement that sometimes happens. That was an issue for many new Blast riders. Assuming it is not accidental rear brake engagement then it is time to move on to the engine. I'm not completely familiar with my new CR yet so I'm not sure what vacuum lines it may have and what they do. At very low rpms it is possible to stall the engine while letting the clutch out, depending on the rolling speed at that time. I've noticed the CR can't be driven the way the XB can for this reason. Up to 3K rpm the CR has very little torque compared to the XB. (I was just looking at some dyno charts posted in this section so my claim is from my memory of that) But that would happen under acceleration. Wheel hop on high speed downshifts is very much lessened by the slipper clutch on the CR. My guess would be that this happens while the engine is spinning below 3K rpms and the rolling speed is low enough that it does not overcome engine braking. Did the first poster say he skipped second gear completely? Is it possible that the rolling speed would have pushed the engine above red line when letting out the clutch in first gear? The rev limiter might retard the engine in that case and it would seem to stall. I don't really know about that, but it seems plausible, maybe a technician could shed more light. Just my random thinking. |

ive got an 09 cr with 100 miles total. mine died on saturday. it was running a total of 5 minutes. i was downshifting while pulling in to the gas station. it died rolling up to the pump. caught me off guard but i was stopping anyway. i didnt know others had this problem. and it never starts on the first starter engagement. i always have to crank a couple seconds then it hits and dies then crank again and it starts. just likemy xb after i did the stock exhaust mod. my 1125 is bone stock though. |

If the stand is lowered without clutch in, it can kill the engine right? If so, you might want to check that the stand switch is operational. |

There is no side stand switch. One can ride off with the stand deployed if one is not paying attention. |

I had the same thing happen today... I have a 2009 1125CR with 200 miles on it, I hit my brakes, downshifted to first, and got ready to make a left hand turn off the street...all of a sudden my engine just turned off. Nothing happened, I just clutched in and hit the starter...Still a little unnerving. |

Experienced same issue. Charged battery with a 1.5 amp maintainer charger. Problem seems to have stopped. I leave the maintainer plugged in whenever cycle is in the garage. |

Well I am going in this Saturday to check my code PO562 system voltage error. My bike is sitting in my garage until Saturday. So hopefully it starts. I'm glad I am not alone on the engine stalling. J2Blue's observations on whats happening is real close. Especially on rolling speed its bound to occur more often with lower RPM's it still made me stall twice before the noid installation. Once after so the noid should be ruled out. It might be the battery or charging system rearing its head. I am buying the battery tender that was intended to be on the 10's while I am at the dealer. Hopefully I dont have a Stator problem. Hopefully just the battery. I havent had any recent issues with stalling and everything that has happened to me has been before the code. My 09 1125R was stalling occasionally when pulling in the clutch. It was a improperly machined stator causing the crank position sensor to misread. There is a service bulletin regarding this dated March 2009. |

Interesting find. Hopefully my dealer knows about the bulletin. I will remind them about that this weekend. I have a feeling I'm going to need a rental. |
