How long can I run this Jardine slip-on without a different tune? Thanks for the input! |

You don't NEED a tune if you also buy the Jardine Pro-Tune 3 card, which allows you to add fuel at different "zones" or conditions (you may not NEED the card either, but I found it helpful). It used to cost $150 with purchase of the pipe, but I don't know if that deal's still on (list is $310). Even so, my understanding is that the tune is the overall better option, though it will cost more. I also don't know whether any of the available tunes are plug and play, or whether they need further adjustment . . . |

I ran one for about 4-5000 miles before I took it off. Only thing I saw was a wide disparity between the front and rear AFV's. It runs lean in most cases, so the ecm will add as much fuel as it needs, but even so, it's not perfect. |

A "tune"...? Putting on the "Pro "Tune" card"..is just a different way of "tuning" the ECM/engine. For the engine to run correctly..or even sorta correctly...ANY time you enable the exhaust to leave the engine faster/more efficiently...the intake must also be made better. And since the engine is lean from the factory, now you want to lean it more by using a different exhaust...yea...the engine needs more fuel..! And if you desire good throttle response...add some ignition timing too. Some will disagree about this...my take on that, they don't understand the way an internal combustion engine works. From the lowliest Model T, to a current F1 to an 8000hp Top Fuel engine, ignition is JUST as important as the right amount of fuel. Mike |

I know running an engine too lean is not good but without a tune but can I hurt the motor if I ride it for a couple days without the "proper" tune |
