I searched on here and the Buell site with no luck. Are 09 CRs coming prewired for auxillary electrical? I read somewhere there is a line behind the windscreen and that you can get an adapter for a 12v cigarette lighter type plug. I can't confirm that they are wired and I can't find the adaptor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. | ||

There's a little molex like plug in the cluster F of wires in the front of the fairing. That's the aux port. | ||

Note though, on the part Froggy mentioned - it is a panel-mount lighter socket, so you have to find somewhere large and flat enough to make a hole for it. But yes, it is the same plug-in to the wiring harness. It's a gray 2 pin plug with nothing connected to it. | ||

Rat, I have it stuffed under the flyscreen. Yes it sucks that I can't change my accessory on the fly, but 99% of the time I am using it for my cell phone charger so I leave it in. I will gladly take the flyscreen off for the one time I need to use the air pump  It's in there somewhere  | ||

Froggy, that pic looks like a robot had the top of his head cut off. Cool. I'd like to use mine for phone and/or GPS so it would be good to be able to switch without disassembling the bike on the side of the road or in a Bob Evans parking lot. | ||

Get yourself one of these splitter type units then. Only issue I see, you are adding more places for something to vibrate loose. Would be worth it to try.  | ||

Froggy, Is that "extension" intended to extend the wire you have hidden or allow me to run 2 things at once. I don't foresee needing to run 2 things at once. This is hard to put into words. I'll just order the 12v extension and see how it works. | ||

Yea but with that you can keep both adapters plugged in and read to go, so you wouldn't have to remove the flyscreen to swap. | ||

Or... Drill a small hole in the fairing, and panel-mount...well, just about ANY two-pin connector. I use the heated clothing connectors since they're pretty solidly built, and they're coax so no chance of plugging in backwards. Make your own "in the hand" adaptor for your gear (i.e. cell phone to coax panel mount), and swap plugs to your hearts' content. | ||

Oh, and for what its worth...the instrument panel surround is only $11. I may buy a second so I can drill one to remote-mount my heated clothing thermostat.... | ||
