I am just wondering, more than any other part, would be the isolators. Any idea if this is something that might be hard to get in the future, or are these common? Wonder how many dealers will still have their frame spreaders for the tubers, so they can change the isolators? REX |

5/16" Stover nut + a short length of ready rod = frame spreader. |

frame spreader = isolator compressor actually visually spreading your frame = you have probably f'd it up I read all of the horror stories here and was as concerned as you. Took my time, used $8 worth of allthread and steel pipe, and it was not difficult at all. Polishing my swingarm by hand while I had it out was hard, changing the isolators? Not so much! |

>>frame spreader=isolator compressor. Iso's cannot be compressed, the frame must be spread apart .080"-.125" + depending on the locating pin length on models without removable side plates. |

Iso's cannot be compressed I disagree, I could easily see that the iso was compressing. Sorry I don't have pictures. either way, it is not a difficult job... |

YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPREAD THE FRAME ANY MORE THAN YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TOO !!! COMPRESS THE "LEFT" ISOLATOR AS MUCH AS YOU CAN BEFORE TRYING TO REMOVE THE "RIGHT" ISOLATOR(improvise a simple tool) !!! Early on the H-D technicians and the unknowing were spreading the FRAME so much that BMC was supplying ISOLATOR "SHIMS" ... |

The rubber mounts that separate the engine from the frame. One at the front, two at the back. |
