Has everyone else found the 1125 to be high cost in insuring. Just called the agent (Geico) and it's going to cost almost as much to insure the CR as it cost to insure my Concours14 and Zx9R put together, that's crazy. Hopefully the rates come down on this bike soon. Mike

Even my 'lots of variables' insurance rules, the 25's seem to be a mixed bag. Geico was actually cheapest for me ... Lots of threads here about insurance. But it ultimately comes down to calling/quoting around and taking what works best for you.

my quotes ranged from 4k a year to 1050 a year....I will let you guess which one I went with.

but, I was looking at getting a cbr 1000rr as well, and when I priced it through my insurance company that was the best deal on the buell, it was 3700 bucks. Moral of the story, shop around....a lot.

Yes, each my 1125's are about $1500 a year to insure. XB12SS is $500, and my Blast is $200.

The insurance on my 1125R is the same as my Speed Triple... around $23/month with State Farm.

My '06 UlyX is $300/year, full coverage (payments)

My '09 CR is $380/year, full coverage (also making bike payments).

Those are *before* I file for the new "homeowner discount". 37 yo male rider, average driving record.

HD insurance, they work with a number of agencies (I'm with Dairyland). 800-832-4449. They'll shop you around for the best quote and give you a price.

Good prices Joe. Progressive on xb12ss & xb9sx are basically the same as Froggy's cost. Haven't checked on blasts or 1125s.

Hmm, a couple bikes in the truck and a couple on the trailer.

I traded my 9SX on an 1125R, and my rate dropped $5/year. It's under $300 at State Farm.

WOW i had 1 ticket one my record 31yrs old single and Progressive wanted 1700.00/yr for BARE MINIMUMs (1000.00 deducts).... 2200.00 for Complete coverage...

I called Geico and got COMPLETE MAXXED coverage for 1200/yr...(500.00 deducts)

Whats crappy is my 40k Jeep Grand cherokee with MAXXED full coverage and 500.00 deductables is only 960ish/yr

Hell when i was married i had 2 vehicles under full coverage and one with liability and those payments were only 350.00/6 months No one can touch USAA for insurance coverage on cars, but for bikes they use Progressive and honestly...Progressive is WAY overpriced IMO.

Either way the 1125's seem higher than most for the sport bikes.

"Either way the 1125's seem higher than most for the sport bikes."

When it was launched it was pointed out the cheap crash protection of the pods. At least one company was said to be favorable towards it with reasonable coverage. Maybe people have really been wadding them.

Don't feel bad now after seeing what everyone else is paying. I'm at 459.00 a year for my three bikes, but like I said, I was at 263.00 for the Concours 14 and ZX9R (full coverage). I'll be 58 and a clean driving record, so it makes a big difference I guess. I wonder if they take the Golden Buckeye Card.

WOW - first of all thanks for everyone posting up their info.

I was surprised when i bought the new 25R since insurance was re-quoted at 2k+ a year! I did a dairyland quote 8-9mo ago when i almost bought it and it was 800'ish.

Did a LOT of digging and finally got mine at local state farm for 550 yr with 100/300/50 coverages. 500 deduct. Not too shabby!

Now hoping i won't need it!

GL!
