I need my 10k service soon and was interested in getting some upgrades as well. I already have new black bearings installed. Whats the $cost$ of: -07 airbox mod. -07 fork springs. What other upgrades would be good for my 06 Uly? |

Its not as bad as u think. I bought it new in 1/08, not 1/06. 12200k I know its not huge by any means. But is my only form of transit now. Thanks for the part numbers Froggy. (Message edited by xb12xmike on October 30, 2009) |

I'd love to pick up a xb12Ss to use for a daily. (I mean,...when I get one of those "created or saved" jobs) |

There have also been two upgrades to the belt. I would get the newest and use the original as a spare. |

I'd recommend getting a new fuel pump assembly, or at least pulling the current one out and provide some sort of protection for the wires. Stock '06 wires are thin and have no protection what so ever. Over time they rub against a support casting and break. Mine broke at 50,000 miles, others are breaking around the 30,000 mark. |

+1 on the fuel pump wires. Mine went out(on the 06) at 12k and left me stranded. Don't forget the upgraded 77 plug! |

What's the advantage of the '07 airbox on the '06? |

The 07 airbox is more open and allows more cool air to enter. |

08 triple trees for more steering. Comfort Kit. Head breather reroute. Headlight modification. (Keeps both on during bright mode.) Check 77 connector. Use dielectric grease if it looks good, if it looks bad replace it with new style connector. Install new belt as mentioned and keep the old stretched one for roadside repair spare. Go ride the crap out of it, it likes that! |

I own an 06 and have ridden every model but the 09. I'd spent the money on my house. |

I checked the 77 connector on my 06 and it looked as good as new and it has seen plenty of rain duty. Must be a problem for those that ford creeks and submerge it. |

Nope to Electraglider. Left stranded midle of 4 lane hiway during rush hour. No fun. Also now river crossings and also no rain riding at that time. They put in new VR w/same type of plug, 5K miles later plug was starting to look bad. I cut it off and used sump pump waterproof wire connectors. |
