The only thing I've done to my 09 XB12Scg is installed a fender eliminator..... While my bike is put away for the winter, what do you guys suggest I do to my bike? I just need ideas to pass the winter months. Thanks, Nick |

I'd suggest just sit back, look at what others have done or are doing. Find inspiration, ideas, parts you like and make the changes. Or wait till into next year after you have had more time with her and you'll know if you need to change anything for a more perfect fit. |

i am going to add some lights that will point forward and light up on high beam so i'll have the high beam and 2 hella 500's lighting the road. and new tires and sorely needed service performed by yours truly.also going to make a small trailer for my xb and some tools/fuel/camping junk to tow behind the jeep. it'll save my bike tires, and my butt and still have all the stuff i need to go camp and explore. |

I'd install hand guards. Hand guard extenders. Heated grips. Hook up for electric clothing. Throw in some electric clothes and it will be 'winter modded' and you can continue riding |

Catch can would be awesome... A pipe is as must have IMHO. Open air kit plus a pipe is a bit much with stock ECM, I hear it runs way to lean. Tail light is pricey but would be nice (I dont have it yet). Maybe some tech spec pads or stomp grips, tech spec look great on the buell. LSL foot pegs (stock are VERY slippery) Right side scoop (large one) REALLY helps with the fan. Thats all the stuff I recently put on and it makes the bike run great. Bar end mirrors maybe? Perhaps new bars? Depends on what you use the bike for and what your looking for... You can get cheap bar end mirrors on e-bay for like $35, mine look like CRG's from 5' away, quality is great and it looks much better then OEM mirrors. |

BTW, I'm working on good riding clothes, just as expensive as lots of mods and probably more important, might extend my season if I get some stuff soon. |

Thanks for all of the good ideas guys. One question on the catch can....will it void my warranty? Thanks, Nick |

Depends... something goes wrong with fueling etc... they might try and blame the catch can. Anything non-related shouldnt be an issue but its very easy to put back together if you hold on to all the parts and need to bring it into the shop. |

KInd of unrelated... Does Darkhorse make a complete belt conversion for the 03 to get the larger belt size? |

what rah7x7 said but with a few additions brembo rear brake (if you use it as much as I do it will be well worth it) (bracket from dark horse or kit from American Sport Bike) Lyndall Gold+ Brake pads (from American Sport Bike) sandpaper to your headers and polish them out (from your local hardware store) and smile all winter... you have a buell to ride when the weather warms up Edit: I don't think dark horse does but AL carries one (Message edited by delta_one on November 01, 2009) |

Greg - we don't sell a full belt conversion kit but could help you put one together. Delta - we designed the rear brake caliper bracket that Al sells (as do we). Thanks, Keith |

this year...change Uly to "S" rear section, cut some OEM-Parts here an there... change to "S-Frontend"...doing dual Headlight swap, change exhaust and header, Frontbreake..rear comes later...change the brakelines and banjos, FS Beltensioner...change Speedodesign, open Airbox Mod, change idler and rear Pulley, change Nuts and Bolts to chrome ones, hydraulic clutch, throw some paint on it. Keppi, what type of pipe is that and whats the front caliper? Looks good! +1 to the gold+ brake pads for street use, I used them on the track and while they work fine there is some fading and the power is not the same as OEM (or a race pad). They are much more progressive as well. This is great for the street so if you run across some gravel and accidently jab on the brakes it wont instantly lock the front wheel but as you come into the first corner after the back straight at your local track, or on your local backroad, you will really need to squeeze the lever to get it to slow quickly. I prefer a more sensitive or touchy brake in this instance, hence why its a great street pad. I won a free set and considering they are $100 obviously Ill use the free set after I go through my current set but Ill likely try something more aggressive next time I buy some pads. |
