I'd like to find this out myself. As far as I'm aware you need rear sets. I don't see how else it could be done with the stock rear sets.

There is a thread a few threads down about Woodcraft rear sets.

Looks like they want to stop the R&D and scrap it but a member was able to strike a deal with the owner of Woodcraft; If we can get 20 orders together he'll make them. We only need 10 more so sign up and hopefully it'll happen.

This is the only way I can see obtaining GP shift.

I thought I saw a kit to make the stock rearsets GP but I can't remember where. I am not racing this one so I am keeping the pegs stock, there are very comfy : )
I guess I will race my 07'GSXR 1000 next year as well.

I won't be racing mine but ever since I switched I just can't go back.

Keep tabs on the thread here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/508986.html?1256780060

and hopefully we can get a group buy rolling.

No need for new rear sets. Just buy the GP linkage from Buell.

Do you have any pics? How does the belt or chain effect the shift style?

belt/chain, IIRC its a clearance issue.

I want a set too. I can switch hit GP and standard.

I can afford 1 kit, but I dont think I can afford another one when I drop her.

I kinda like that the current set-up has no linkage. Very crisp shifts.

$275 is pretty steep.

The shifter linkage from Honda RC51 might work. I had one around and tried installing it. The mounting bolt fits right in, but the interlocking spline doesn't fit.

I'm looking to do GP shifting on my bike also. I've been riding with GP on my XB for over a year and when I test rode my CR...oops, stalled the bike, wrong gear.

My hubby is looking at ways of doing it without buying the kit, yes a little steep on price. If anyone can figure it out, he can.

That price is insane for just the linkage.

Maybe our friends @ Precision Engineering can make a less costly kit.

It is more than just the linkage. Their price isn't bad. I made one myself, and considered marketing it, but I couldn't do it much cheaper than Buell, so I quit.

I have moto GP shifting as of tonite, thank you hubby. It cost $40 in parts and about 4-5 hours in machining time. He's exhausted. Now to go out and try it tomorrow, I hope. Snow needs to melt.

Hmm..."4-5 hours of machining time" is about $400-$500 at most machine shops. So your GP shift is about $440-$540. Starts making the Buell kit look affordable. I am sure most of that machine time was due to first setup and other non-recurring efforts. Any idea what you could get that production time down to? I can't imagine you would be looking at more than 1 hour machine time for anything you would make so a $150 kit should not be out of the question.

Bottom line, out of pocket expense for us was $40, not $275. He enjoyed working on it too. It was a fun project for him. He'll be making one for his bike also.

Anthony I used to live in Parsippany a long time ago. I'm from NJ originally.

I totally understand where you were coming from. I am just trying to put it into perspective for those that think $275 is too much money. I think it is a lot of money for what it is, but I don't think it could be done MUCH cheaper.

Congratulations on being able to escape!

Will post pics. Took some today. Just need to size them down

Did my maiden voyage with the GP today and it worked great. Very smooth and it was nice not to have to retrain my brain for the standard shifting AND learning a new bike
