Need some opinions: Have a 2009 1125R - Racing Red. Picked up the side fairing kit, which obviously is black. Do I leave the side pieces black, and just cover them with a Red vinyl graphic to match the rest of the bike? Or do I try to find someone crazy enough to try and match the plastic on the rest of the bike? Would rather not have to have the whole set painted. thoughts? |

Most good paint shops can scan a red piece and match it exactly. |

It'd be interesting to see it unpainted (black) and decide. Is it easy enough to install that you could put it on & post some pics? Plus, I'd love to see how it looks. |

The dealer in pensacola had a red 09 1125R with black fairings with some small red and black tribal graphics... it looked pretty good. |

@Toona - agreed - but do I want to pony up $$$ for a good paint shop when $100 vinyl kit will do the job. @Dman - will do - prob Sunday - maybe one night this week - should be arriving today. @NotPurple - how much of the fairing was covered in graphics - I would have thought that large graphics would have looked better... but that's just me... |

Please post the Red/Black combo. I'm in the same boat and would love to see what it looks like. |

Also thinking about having all of the plastics sprayed with bedliner cover. Should give a little more grip on the airbox as well as look a little more badass. I've seen a few XB9SX's around here and it looked great. Anybody else try this? |

I've seen it, and I think it looks like crap. Why do you need better grip on the air box cover. |

I had the fairings matched to my white R by a local paint shop ($175). They just painted right over the black and got pretty close to the actual color. Check out this previous thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/502531.html?1255393434 |

Red intakes on a black bike would be badass - black on red... not so sure... |
