Hey folks, I've seen all the 03Z/04Z/05Z ECM flash talk. I asked my dealer today what was on my '09R when I took delivery. They said it's the latest >> #M3HUS131 I can't translate that trailing '131' to anything like a 'Z', so I'd appreciate any more-educated insight. Not yet ridden the bike, so we'll see what it does. The 'Z' flashes, if I'm not mistaken, are for the '08 1125R only. The '131' and subsequent numbered flashes are for the '09 R/CR bikes. Hope that helps. |

my 09' CR had a 12Z flash on it. the latest one is a 141. runs way better now. they give you a print out that shows old/new flash. |

Stevej do you feel you lost any power after the flash? |

I just put my first 67 miles on the bike ... Finally some sun and a bit of free time. I'm no 25R expert, but it seemed to run great on the 131 version my dealership confirmed it currently has. But coming off an '03 H-D Springer Softail, I might just be in WOW mode with the acceleration anyway! The roll-on midrange is insane. I rode it on some country highway road twisties, even through a couple of 20 mph school zones. Finished up with a ride through town where it seemed to run flawlessly. I could sense it wanted to surge/buck a bit in the slow traffic with RPM's below 3K, but one would almost have to purposefully ride it incorrectly to do that. Mike |

Stevej, did you have to make a service appointment or did you just walk in? I believe my 09 cr has the 12z flash as well. |

no cost to flash. this dealer was not even the dealer I bought from but the CR was in their shop on an insurance claim. I banged up the right side pod cover and they replaced it through my insurance and I asked if they could check the flash and see if it needed updating. the tech said no prob it only takes a couple minutes and he came back with the printout after I watched him do it and it showed last flash and new flash. the 141 flash over the 10z mine had on it was like night and day, the bike runs smoother, cooler and feels stronger. I have already de-noided when I was in that area replacing the throttle cables when I did the high bar kit. |

sorry, my first post I said my CR had a 12Z flash, it had a 10Z flash and when it was updated to the 141 flash I got jumped over the 12Z so I never had it on my bike. |

So if you're me, do you have the dealer upgrade my current 131 to the 141 at the first servicing? I liked the way it ran the first day I rode it (nearly 70 miles, various road/traffic conditions) ... But if 141 is that much better, could be worth a try?? Mike |
