I'm sure you've all seen a ton of these and hate them... but I've owned my S3 for about 10 years and picked up a new '08 1125R last week and it's obviously a totally different animal! How do I know if all updates have been completed, any issues to watch for, and what's the deal with the "noid" I've seen alot about? Thanks in advance... much appreciated! |

Did they send you the pic yet? What is the purpose of De-noiding? |

Search is your friend here. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/489162.html?1250813010 That thread has great info on why we de-noid as well as a very good "how to" with detailed pics as well. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/440981.html?1238212241 Here's a thread about carrying a spare belt under the seat and being able to do a roadside replacement. There is another link in the thread to the original starting thread. Your dealer can check HDnet for your VIN recall history as well as hook your bike to the DT-III in service and check the ECM rev/update the ECM. Zack |

No, they just sent a stock pic. Lots of threads out there on the removal of the noid. Just searched it myself last night and got the answers I needed. |

I have yet to find a reason to denoid, but I plan on buing the factory plug and putting it under the seat - just in case I find a reason. My bike has been good to go from the beginning. EZ |

A moderator needs to post in big letters and bold colors a STICKY request for new owners to search BEFORE posting a question. Yes, it might take more time and effort to search as the feature isn't terribly great, but really its takes time and effort to answer the same questions over and over. Thanks for all those new owners who take the time to search and dont' immediately post a thread with every question that pops into their head. I am sure it could be much worse with 150-200 new owners on the board. |

Well said Fresno! Been laughing to myself about the newbies on here and some of the questions/points that they have raised. The only saving grace is that many of them appear to be previous Buell owners which indicates an appreciation of the brand. |

Yes, it can be "frustrating" when a Noob asks about the 'noid. But look @ the other side of the coin Fresno...it's our chance (the "old guys") to help them out & build a friendship here. Remember, the Noob today that you help may someday be the "old guy" that has a part you need somewhere down the road.

Sorry for the hassle, but it was kind of an open question as to what to look for! Guess I can go back to the "other" forum where people just ignore the posts. Like i said... not exactly a newbie to Buell (probably owned longer than many on here in fact), just looking for pointers on my new to me model! |

I don't mind the noob posts with the "same old" questions, sometimes new experiences and answers come out, but, yeah, browse and search first to get some backgrund at least and to get along better with the old guys (Message edited by whynot on October 28, 2009) |

Tbolt98 Hey I don't mind the questions - I always have something to learn from another Bueller. I am new to the sport of riding and Buell so I read all the 1125R posts to glean a little gold. Of course to get the gold you have skim over the gravel sometimes (like the frustration "oldies" might express with someone for not searching before asking a question) Keep on posting and reading brother and remember here we are all people deserving of decency. ... of course this is only an opinion. |

Hey - welcome! I've been lurking for quite a while before finally getting my new 09 R. Like you i have a fair bit of "noob" questions. Luckily everyone has been patient and helpful (why i'm here vs other sites). My biggest gripe is the craptastic "search" function and the forum layout itself. No stickies, no avatars, just painful. So i do search (quite a bit of digging) and find about 50-60% of what i was looking for or remember seeing before, but also re-ask a lot of simple q's. I vote that the mods look at phpBB! PLEASE! Do us all a favor... http://www.phpbb.com/ OK - sorry for the partial rant. Long time forum guy and this one takes some getting used to. Still worth it, and I will keep searching before asking! |
