so, after going thru all the "i hate these mirrors" posts... i have found i have the same problem, i couldn't adjust the mirrors enough to actually see the road behind me... so i kept pushing to loosen it up and one push too far..... CRACK!!! so i have a shattered right/throttle side mirror... now what?! replace the glass? [hopefully it's covered under warranty] i want to keep these mirrors and really like the mirror/turn signal combo... any suggestions? thanks |

Frankly, if I had broken my mirror as you describe, I would feel it was my responsibility and wouldn't expect it to be covered under warranty. I think it's time to buy a new mirror. Hopefully you don't have to buy the entire assembly. |

Its covered under warranty...you could always "stretch" wat actually happened so it wasnt ur fault...but from my experience i had the left side glass fal out on the freeway lol..it was covered FWIW... Jake |

The mirror's inability to be adjusted such that they are useful to normal-size riders is indicative of a manufacturing defect as far as I am concerned. It's not unreasonable for a customer to expect that, like on other vehicles, the mirrors on the 1125 could be adjusted so that the operator could use them for their intended purpose (seeing traffic to the rear on each side). Buell should do a warranty repair and they should provide angled washers (say 5 degree) to address this safety issue. |

The mirrors work fine for me on both my R and CR. Not as great as the Tuono mirrors on my XB, but all 3 are better than the stock XB mirrors. Post an ad in the classifieds, you can pick up a new mirror for a reasonable price, they are about $70 each new. |

You guys all need to get a freakin' grip. If I was checking my tread depth on my tires and pushed the gauge a little too far and punctured the tire, is it anyone's fault but my own? Loosen the control mounts, rotate forward. The mirror moves with it and if you can't get it adjusted to a good place then you're either some kind of freakishly tall person or severely handicapped. |

Has anyone put those convex safety mirrors in the corners of their mirrors? Just wondering |

You guys all need to get a freakin' grip. I have one, but you seem to be losing yours. If I was checking my tread depth on my tires and pushed the gauge a little too far and punctured the tire, is it anyone's fault but my own? Well if I opened my gas cap and the fuel ignited and flames engulfed me, whose fault would that be? See, we can all make up idiotic non-analogies. Yours has no more relevance than mine. The guy followed the adjustment instructions in the manual and the mirror broke before reaching a position where he could see traffic behind him. If almost every person with the 1125CR has the mirror adjusted as high as it will go, then the problem is the mirror, not the riders. |

Can the parts of the mirror/signal assembly be purchased as needed, or is it always the whole $78 part if any one thing is wrong? |

I will check my parts book tonight and confirm, but I believe its a one piece kinda deal. |

I'm assuming you have an R, but you might consider bar ends anyway. You could put mini led turn signals in the mirror holes. I had no intention on using the stock mirrors, the CR looks better without them.

WTF good is putting a convex mirror on that buzzing glass. Won't make anything to the side or behind you any more legible! Even though I just replaced an OEM one, I agree with Moose that bar ends are the way to go. |

i just tilted the levers forward just a tad, voila the mirrors are pointing the right way +1. It's not necessarily obvious when you first try to adjust the mirrors, but it's not a design defect. |

I have one, but you seem to be losing yours. Firmly intact, but thanks for the concern. The guy followed the adjustment instructions in the manual and the mirror broke before reaching a position where he could see traffic behind him. If almost every person with the 1125CR has the mirror adjusted as high as it will go, then the problem is the mirror, not the riders. I'm sorry, but if the glass stops moving and push it even harder to the point of breaking, then you've just been careless and did NOT follow the directions. If I want volume turned up on my stereo but decide it's not loud enough at full volume, so I decide to force the knob even more and break it off, is that the manufacturers fault? There are plenty of people who have gotten the stock mirrors to work just fine without having to break one first. See, we can all make up idiotic non-analogies. Yours has no more relevance than mine. Mine was an example of operator error. |

thanks for all the posts... didn't mean to start a "who's fault is it" thread, i know it was my fault, i pushed too hard but i'm still hoping it'll be covered under warranty [awaiting a call from the dealership]. it is strange that these mirrors aren't more adjustable, i'm average size/weight... and yet no matter what i do i still mostly see my own shoulders/elbows/jacket. most of all, i was just wondering what other people have done who want to keep these original mirror/turn signals. |

You guys must not have much experience on any other bikes. Most Japanese bikes and Italian and British bikes show you your elbows proudly in the mirrors. It is most likely because wide mirrors are ugly. I guess this is ONE place form trumped function in the Buell design group. ac |
