Granted, I DID make a quick BLAST! or 2 to 99-100 glad you could join the rest of the squids... and most people who are truely fast dont feel fast, much less keep repeating how fast they are to others. and then again you are talking straight line fast on a buell... hmmm. i guess that does happen Wanna go FAST? I can show U the PROPER way, NO BS. do i get to pick the location/track? (Message edited by no_rice on October 25, 2009) |

Team Ammo Can (sponsored partly by Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson’s parts dept.) has set a new national record in the Modified/Partially Streamlined/Pushrod/Gas 1350cc class at the Bonneville salt flats. The previous record was 155 mph, Pete Strunk rode the Buell XBRR to two run average of 168.2195 mph. Their best run was in dry conditions, hitting 172.022 while bouncing off the soft rev limiter for the whole timed mile. Pete and crew chief Jon Stauffer then changed the gearing to attempt to go 180 mph. Maybe you mean to say Pete Strunk is faster than than anyone on this board. You sure come across like an arrogant jerk. Maybe tone it down a touch. |

but I'm STILL faster than ALL of YOU That some pretty arrogant talk. Please try and check your ego at the door next time. We've got plenty of licensed go fast guys on here. And those that are fast, usually don't need to brag about it. |

Ah well, what can you do?... All this name calling is downright immature. It wasn't a thread to facilitate bragging rights, it was more about the performance of the bike - not the capability of the rider. No BS. Chill out fellas. |

I'm human, male and at 55 still have a LITTLE testosterone left. If I didn't like going fast, I never would have bought Loretta. The fastest I have ever gone on land is 145 mph in a Split-Window 63 'Vette I had. The front-end started to float. I said a bunch of fast words to St. Chris, guess it worked. NO desire to go faster than THAT on 2 wheels unless I can get to Bonneville or the Texas Mile. I do regularly run her up into triple-digits, but low ones, usually on the exit ramp going in to work. If you are looking at the speedo, the WRONG things in life are important to you - ESPECIALLY AT SPEED. |

Ok - lets shift this thread in a slightly different direction What speed do you guys feel the most comfortable cruising at? For example on my (naked) SV1000 the bike settled into a nice groove at about 85mph when on the highway. On my TL1000 it was a little faster. On my '69 Bonnie it was more like 50mph... On my 1125R (with a 3" lift screen) feels just right at 100mph which happens to be exactly 6000rpm. Anyone else felt their 1125 has a sweet cruising spot? PS. Radar detectors are legal where I live. PPS. The funny thing is - I don't have one!! |

I test rode a CR saturday and hit triple digits without really meaning to. I left without buying one. As much as I loved it and as cheap as it was I really don't think I'd be able to keep my license with a bike like that. It was deceptively fast. I WILL have one one day! |
