Buell Motor Company products and history are maintained by a company known as EFB Designs and an ad hoc loosely organized group known as "Elves".

I think his point is that the "Buell Motorcycle Company" and the "Buell Motor Company" are two different companies, the former is owned by H-D and the latter is owned by EFB Designs.
