Can anyone give me a couple of recommendations answering a mundane question? I just got lucky enough to pick-up super clean 97 S3T. It dosent need anything but i enjoy the process of personalizing. I first picked up a Vance and Hines exhaust system and now am looking for an higher flowing air cleaner assembly. It looks like my only choices are either an American SportBike Graphite cover assembly or a Forcewinder. Is there anything else out there? |

Go with the Ham Can, if it doesn't cramp your knee, it's the best one out there. |

That would be the one you see at American Sport Bike, they are a great piece of billet machining. I have one on my M2, and both of our S2's. Although the S2's did come with them.... The one from Buell came with the Race Kit. They are nicknamed "The Ham Can" because they sort of look like a ham can! They are almost impossible to find these days. The backing plate on the American Sport Bike unit is far superior as it doesn't flex. Brad Brad |

I have the factory Race Kit version on my M2. That newer 3rd party alternative has a nicely machined backing plate with integrated spacer and inlet. The Factory Buell Race kit can be occasionally be picked up on EBay "where mine came from". I ended up having to get a separate 5/8" spacer as my kit was slightly incomplete. The factory race kit components are all discontinued but spacers are available through kuryakyn and sold by the dealer or American Sports bike. |

Kuryakyn? IMO, FAIL! Ugly, perform poorly, get in the way, prone to breakage.. DVC, there is a race intake system on Ebay right now. Last I saw, it was at $100. Included backing plate, filter, cF ham can cover and mounting hardware. Brad |
