Picked up a 1125 cr tuesday. So far I love it have 135 miles on it. here are a few ?'s how exactly do you tune these bikes and load maps. can I do that myself? to me the fueling seems off my only complaint is I wish the on off throttle was smoother. maybe my bike has the old tune? can you get tunes somewhere to download yourself? Next is setting up the suspension. If you follow all the settings in the manual is the sag good. or do you need to do sag seperate. I really want to get the suspensions dailed in on this bike. I know I could problay use the search function but don't have time to sit on the internet for hours as I need to get out and ride before it snows! If you install a slip on do you need to remap or tune or will the bike learn on it's own. |

Cafe, after it snows you will have all the time in the world to use the search function... Set up your suspension by the manual, that will set you up closest to what you want. fine tune from there. As for adjusting your maps, there are some programs out there that allow you to change some settings, some are plug and play, others are a bit more complicated. Just ride the thing for now! You've got all winter to tinker with it! |

No actually I never seem to get the time to search for hours upon hours, with working 10 hrs then having a 2 yr old then trying to work out. I would rather just ask my? and see if someone cares to answer. only reason I checked this now was to see if anyone answered me so I could set up the suspension before I leave for a ride! |

Didn't your mama ever teach you to say thanks? He did give you one answer. Do you think people aren't bust like you and want to type up the same information over and over? |

You will need the dealer to do the tune updates for the ECM. The suspension seems to be by rider feel over time on the bike, I personally went softer than the manual states, but I am no expert, nor do I think I have it dialed in correctly for me yet? Maps and tuning will have to be searched, it is out there. www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/495 478.html |

I would rather just ask my? and see if someone cares to answer. Hours and hours of searching is a slight exaggeration. However, remember for all the time it saves you to just post a question, it takes time for someone to type an answer. Honestly, the vast majority of all the new owner questions have been discussed and re-hashed several times over the last 3 years. Use the search function first, post a thread if you truly can't find an answer and be courteous when an experienced badwebber takes the time to help you via an answer.} |

you will not need the dealer to tune the ECM, only to apply the factory updates and maintain your warranty in that regards. |

Search function really isn't as good as it could be. Set your suspension according to the book. Photocopy the page or print it from Buell.com. Take it and a pen/cil with you. Take the two (?) tools you need and go find a road that feels rough. Do a number of passes, make changes, keep notes. |

Actually set suspension up and went for 120 mile ride today, what a difference in the way it handles! Bike is a riot to ride now. did a few 2nd gear roll ons with 2 08 Busa's today and faired better then I thought I would. was right there untill 5th gear then they start to pull away. if the where stock gearing I think I could have been right there untill the buell ran out of steam. they where surprised as well. very fun bike. fueling still seems a little rough to me but I have not had a v twin for a long time so maybe I just need to get more use to it. |

You are not mistaken about the fueling cafe. The motor can be much much smoother with tuning. |

So what kind of tuning do you recommend as I would love the fueling to be smoother. |

I ordered a tune from O h i o sport bike . com for mine. Havent got it in yet but that seems to be the best option for these bikes from what i have gathered over several Buell forums in the last month I have owned my 09 CR. |

I have the tune as well, and short of a custom mapping its the best option from what I know. It requires a small amount of adjustment -an hour or so on the dyno is best, but not required. Motor pulls smoother, runs a smidge cooler and doesn't sound like its on the verge of self destruction. |

Xtreme, get that tune installed and let me know how smooth it cruises. $70 is all it cost you right? |

O S B tune works w/stock bike, but not on the last/latest 141 flash ('09 CR). 12Z is the last version this ecm tune supports. |

The tune is $300+, the utility to manipulate the fueling and spark maps (among other things) is around $70. |

The tune is $300+, the utility to manipulate the fueling and spark maps (among other things) is around $70. Damn, thought it was the other way around. I don't have the latest flash on my 09 cr, at least I don't think I do, the firmware version is BUEZD0P0 and the build date is March 2009. So would I be better off with the 141 flash or paying $289 for the OH flash? I just want it to surge less and run a bit cooler, i'm not looking for more power. I also don't plan to change the pipe or filter. |

The 70 dollar package does what I wanted. Allows ME to decide what to change. I have pursued rideability over raw power. Last trip to the dyno showed virtually the same peak power as stock, but 5-10 HP stronger than stock from 5-8k rpm. I can let the clutch out while idling and pull out, not stall. The slowest I can ride without touching the clutch - 7 mph idling in 1st. School zones don't scare me, nor does stop-n-go traffic. It's all in what you want, I'm happy with Dave's work and customer support. Z |

Buell ECM calibration xxx141 is the best I have used, very smooth. But again, no O S B tuner for it. My bike dyno has 123hp, 68.9 tq. w/xxx141 ECM calibration. 12Z with O S B tune was good, but I never did a dyno on it, so I can't reference any hard numbers. The $70 package is a "you figure it out yourself" deal. The $300 package is a pre-tune "one click" deal that you can "one click" back to stock if need be. |

We reprogram the stock ECM, No piggy back system, and make the fuelma[p on a dyno with a huge airconditioning, an blower. Just send it give me the details of the setup, and I send it back with DHL 1 day later... This is the best option can be found here: http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=2443&cid=9640&s=&a= |

Is the "one click" deal - "one click" per $300? Or the right to click back and forth as you'd like? |

The suspension setup in the book is on the stiff side for sure, at least on the compression settings. I backed off a quarter turn on the forks and 4 clicks on the shock. It made a world of difference in the feel of the bike. I can tell a lot more about what the front is doing now, that the back no longer bounces me out of the seat. |

I put the o s b tune on today and it pulls alot harder. Good bang for the buck . A pipe retails over 400$ and won't give you the results that daves tune offers. Best money spent. I just sold a jardine cf.hated it . Bought if used and sold it for more. I do want to dyno my r stock and with his tune to see my results. Maybe adj the afv up and down to see where I'm at.Congrats on your new ride. |
