I have been lurking on here for some time now but finally jumped on. I had an XB12Ss a few years ago and traded it for a Ducati Monster S4R, which is an awesome machine. Of course AFTER I traded the 1125R came out, then the 1125CR. I wanted an 1125CR BAD, and now the price reduction and I am thinking I could trade for an 1125CR. Well not so fast...NOW I CAN'T GET SQUAT FOR MY DUC!!! I have tried all the HD dealers in and around the Atlanta area and the best I can get on trade is $4800. Well I owe way more than that. I knew I would not get what I owe but damn $4800...REALLY. AAAGGGHHHH!!!!!! I'M JUST PI$$ED OFF. I guess I'll wait to buy a used one in a few years. Sorry for the long post my first time out, but I had to vent. PS: If any dealer out there wants to work a deal with me just let me know. | ||

With the attractive finance rates they have going its about $100 bux a month for one of these. Can you afford two until you get one sold? Thats an option.. | ||

Dude, pay off enough so you only owe 4800. Then finance the new bike. Net cash outflow should be lower this way. | ||

Get the 1125CR anyway if you can find one and sell your Duc outright. The dealer in Syracuse NY as of Weds night (when I picked up my new Uly) had sold 16 Buells since the weekend and only had one liquid cooled bike left, an 1125R. They were selling leftover 08's for $5k, and 09's for $6k! | ||

Man you guys have some great ideas................I just have one little problem................... My lovely wife won't go for the two bike thing. I do have my bike on Craigslist http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/mcy/1431033303.h tml so maybe I can sell it soon. Thanks for the advice. | ||

I guess that's where I'm lucky. My wife rides and she knows I've been drooling over the CR, so she agreed to let me do it. In the end I'm not sure she is happy with things. She said to me just the other day "I can't believe we own four motorcycles, and we intended to do that." Wayne | ||

Yeah a great Wife/GF is important when it comes to bikes. Just got my GF riding, we now have 3 in the garage. Hers, my 25R and old XR650L now going supermoto. She's just happy i let her put her bike the garage... She's good like that.  | ||

Well In april I went and bought a Triumph Thruxton actually went and priced the CR then and the best was around 10,000 plus tax and stuff so I passed. then with these blow out prices I told the wife If I could get one for that kinda of money I was going to have one in the garage by the end of the day. she just gave me the look and knew I was really going to do it. I also have a ZX 14. All 3 great bikes for different reasons. If you really want the cr better get a new one while the sre this cheap. | ||

The dealer never gives you what your bikes worth. How else can they make any money on it when they sell it. and Harley dealers aren't gonna sell a Ducati. Man up, tell the wife its only until you can sell the S4R if you really want one. I own a 1125R, but I also have a Ducati and I don't see why you would want a 1125CR over a S4R. | ||

You guys and "the wife wont let me...Whaaa!" make me laugh.  For the prices these things went for, it's a deal you'll never find again. I seriously doubt that there are any more 1125R or CR deals to be had. The wife and I decided early this spring that the CR was going to be our next bike. And for less than $7K OTD with high bar kit and the better seat, I couldn't pass it up. | ||

Nate, I don't think we are taking trades unless we can secure a buyer for them already (or they are a Harley). You could always ADD a bike. Actually, a dealer WOULD want to sell a Ducati were Buell not pulling the plug. The talk was even that having a Ducati on the floor for sale could be a good thing. Unfortunately, the deal dropped about $1500 when the Buell deal hit because we couldn't keep the bike and sell it ourselves. The local Ducati shop, where we would have to sell the bike to, wouldn't offer even what we wanted. We tried for three weeks to make the deal happen. I agree that the best possible plan would be to buy a Buell at the stupid deals we have going and sell the S4R yourself. The spread will be so much more in your favor. I can pull it off the floor tomorrow morning. I only need a call. | ||

Ducs4r, I can relate, having just sold my 07 S4R last month. Dealers around here usually go by KBB trade in value, and try to re-sell at $2-3K above that for machines in this range. And most don't want trades on the bargain priced blowout bikes. I think my wife has lost track of my bikes, so I don't bring it up any more.  | ||

Well it just keeps getting better... We had a yard sale Today, I was off doing something else so I was not home, and a guy came by saw the Ducati in the garage and said "How much for the bike". My wife said $9000, the guy replies "I'll take it right now for $8000".... And what does the love of my life do......"No, you will have to come back and talk to my husband" I did not find this out until much later at lunch. I thought my head was going to explode. She could have called me or even gotten the guys phone number. Damnit to Hell and back I can't win for nothing. Of course I will never see this guy again.  | ||
