sounds like an incredibly horrible deal.....only a fool would buy that bike !! as a public service, i will sacrifice the money and make sure no one else is tempted by such an obviously shady transaction. now, if you will just give me his phone #............ ........................................ |

try to get it checked out at the dealer or by a friend who is a mechanically competent tuber owner. sounds like a good price......buy it if it has been well cared for |

I just got my 00 M2 for $2,800 with 6,100 miles on it, Supertrapp and Buell carbon race air cleaner. I was pretty psyched to get it. It looked good, sounded tight though wouldn't idle when I got it - problem later solved by me. Well, even with only 6,000 miles, 9 years is a long enough time to really do some stupid things to it that I didn't see at first. I've spent a few hundred more on it and a bunch of hours getting familiar with it and straightening out the boneheaded repairs performed on it. Given that, and some more tweaks it needs, it's still a bargain, I'd do it again, no regrets and have what's going to be a beloved piece of history! Looks like yours eddie - I want to put the heat shield on it too. (Message edited by Daveswan on October 06, 2009) |

Hi,I'm new here,I bought my 02 M2 yesterday with aftermarket aluminum wheels in great condition with 1,100 miles for $2850,after dealer fees and the so called $299 60 point inspection required I left with the bike at $3845.00 and made a 150 mile trip home with no problems other than freezing. After years of crotch rockets I must say I'm impressed with the bike |

Welcome! Pretty good price, sounds like the dealer added quite a bit in fees. Post pics when you've got a moment. -Mike |

Thanks for the welcome,I agree the dealer fees suck.So far it's a great bike,a bit different to what I'm use to riding.I've got a few things to tend to,the only thing that I see wrong and it may be normal is the tank where it is wide and shakes alot has rubbed the tree on both sides causing two dime sized scuffs on both sides of the tank.I noticed it yesterday having the wheel locked to the left and fired it up.I will touch it up today with some paint and see if the tank is tight,it may adjust back a tad.The only time it will touch is fully locked to the left or right which is likely I'll ever do parked again. It's rainy today here but I'll post some pics soon.Otherwise I love it.I've been riding and working on the "fours" for years and buying parts and having micro-fisch is just a click away on a web search but I cannot seem to find a online Buell oem repair parts list or breakdown films, are parts hard to come by? Full lock is hitting the tank? There's not much turning radius with these. I had one of those rubber bumpers missing. The kit the dealer sells contains two bumpers and instruction, plus generic tube of super glue. I didn't use the glue that came with the kit because I think it dries too brittle contributing to them popping off later. I bought some new formula super glue that is a bit more flexible to resist hot/cold contraction/expansion of dissimilar surfaces. So far so good. Oh, that part used to be a buck-98, now the "kit" is $19... I already had the rubber formula superglue. |
