Early research for anticipated winter project(s). Has anyone installed one of these on a tuber? They plug right into the XB harness I guess... just wondering if wiring into our bikes would work. I'd like to be able to have a clean install on the right hand switch-gear, but the generic kit I have doesn't look like that is an option (big, ugly chrome toggle). |

dUNNO (woops - too much caps day celebration) Dunno about installing into a tuber wiring harness, but those Uly heated grips WORK! I used them last night on the way to work. Only 44* out, and those suckers were almost uncomfortably warm on the low setting. I can't imagine trying them on high. Gonna have to keep riding until Christmas before I can use that setting. Make sure to post pics and a breakdown of the install if you decide to do it. I'm interested in how you'll integrate the wiring. BTW the right side Uly controls are nearly identical to all tuber controls except they include a built in switch for the grips. Finding Uly switchgear would help a lot with your install. |

The kit has a 2 wire plug that goes to the Uly/XB/Loki power outlet plug inside the flyscreen. Lop off the end, extend the wires to the battery (or a switched circuit capable of handling the load), attach the connectors you need and plug 'er in. Everything else should go right on. |

See I've got a spare turn signal switch I robbed from my old left side controls and wanted to adapt it, but it's just an on off switch. It would be pretty easy to put the switch into the right side housing to use with my kit, but don't have any idea how I could make it into a three way switch instead of on/off. If the uly kit is only a two wire thing even I can probably figure out how to make it work... I have this thing about electrical stuff, makes me nervous. |

FWIW, I stuck my big, ugly, chrome toggle in the hole my S3 has in the bracket forward of the handlebars and it doesn't look quite so bad. I believe the M2 has that same bracket/hole. A future upgrade will be to swap that for a variable FET controller, though. The switch setting is either too hot or too cool! |

Speaking of switches. I have always wondered if it could be possible to mount the turn signal type switch (left grip) on the throttle side. I would try to work out a way to key a radio with the cancel button.... if it cold be done. The right left button could still be used for the heaters.... maybe with a little work. |

It could be mounted after some drilling/ cutting since the right side switch housing has the same available space as the left one. The cancel button in the middle however won't make an electrical connection without modifying the switch. The switch in stock form is designed to latch into place in either the right or left positions, and the center button's only purpose is to unlatch that switch and return it to the central position. |

Al at American Sport Bike sells a kit that looks like goes under the grips. I don't have a personal experience but happened to see it on their web site. |
