I also have a shareholder.com account. Which I used to track other info. They have planned this for a while. look at all the new shares and ect transitions. It has been in the works for a while. I personally think they didnt want the buell to out grow the harley side. thats why they linited the dealers and support centers. Their way of holding Buell back. check the link out (I have more links to other stuff on the setup they never cared about buell or its success. totally heartless and ***single minded*** they said so them self in there own report!) UNITED STATES SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION Washington, D.C. 20549 FORM 8-K CURRENT REPORT Pursuant to Section 13 or 15(d) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 Date of Report (Date of earliest event reported): October 14, 2009 http://investor.harley-davidson.com/EdgarList.cfm mike (Message edited by xoptimizedrsx on October 17, 2009) |

I round off just to get a feel for the trend, but this is how I read it. Buell sales figures are interesting, in 2008 they sold over 13,000 bikes, about a 2,000 more bike sales than in 2007. In 2009, during the worst recession since the 1929 depression, so far Buell has sold over 6,000 motorcycles. This is when nothing is selling well. Seems to me that they jumped the gun, or were just predisposed to dump Buell. Since it is going to cost them about $15 million dollars to shut Buell down, a 6 month closure of the factory might have been cheaper, and the Buell brand could survive. Harley Davidson is a lesser company without Buell. I think that a big mistake has been made. |

I don't know much about these reports but it seems to me if I looked at it correctly they don't even show all the buell sales in the US as they only show 691cc and up I know the blast isn't tremendously popular but alot of schools buy them and also women and starters they had virtually no R&D on it as it really never changed it probably has been all profit for years |

It's not about the sales numbers...HD never said they cut Buell because of the numbers. It's to focus narrowly on what they "do best". |

What they do best is pat themselves on the ass and gobble each other under their corporate desks. What a bunch of wankers!! |

Well something like this doesn't happen over night. There was speculation over this in the beginning of September. I laughed and said no way, you would have to be totally retarded to dump Buell, especially when things were just getting started. Well, we all know who the retards are. When can I put a deposit on a Phoenix? |

A Phoenix can sit in my garage. But' I am not holding my breath at this point. Deposit set aside! Like i said in a different thread there are many barns for sale right now and property prices are low. It might be a good time to relocate. |

I really Do not know what to think about all this. I love my Buell but have rarely been treated well at Harley except in the service dept and one guy in the parts dept. I just don't believe this i am in shock. I am considering buying a new one before it is too late but I am currently buying a house and cannot part with any funds. I just hate that this is happening. I would rather buy a "Phoenix" rather than give HD any of my money that i do not have to. |

I think it actually could be better for Buell. I always feel out of place going into H-D for anything for my XB. I think Buell could sell more if they opened independent dealers and suppliers. I know a lot of people who don't even know what a Buell is because they would never think of going to H-D for a street or sportbike. H-D is great for making high priced lead sleds but not the sports market. They should shoot the dumb ass who came up with the idea of buying MV Agusta. They are way out of H-Ds class. Buell and MV ought to get together. Anyway thank God for American Sportsbike. I'd be first in line to open a Buell dealership here in North Texas. Buell/MV/BMW/Ducati/ Appralia, they all go together, not H-D Redfive |

when I used phoenix I was in comparison to another post being wish-full. If Erik Buell does come out of this fine and developed a new line of bikes I will get one of those also. I do not know if he has any plans on doing it. It would be nice if he did come out of this smelling like a rose. He does have 26 years of connections and ect. all we can do is hope and wait. and I am one very impatient person when its something i am passionate about. Again the (Phoenix by Erik Buell)term was a reference to a dream not anything that I know of at allin reality. just a dream oh hope! ( I think I need a beer and I dont even drink after this past week ugh what a week). xopt is still sad!!!! |

Well that will do Froggy. After going to Buell's website and listening to Erik. It seems that they are out of business period. Closing down and done with it. So hopefully American Sportbike will start to stock the whole Thunderstorm engines and rebuild kits. Good time to stock up on and extra ecm too. So does this mean we all own collector items now? This really sucks. Redfive |

Red, don't worry about parts yet. After the dust settles we will see how delivery times are and such, but HD is committed for 7 years for parts and service. Till then, relax and put another 100k on your bike |
