Hello All-- New to the R/CR board, I just picked up my 1125 during the fire sale. Sad week, but maybe some good will come from the ashes of Eric's problem. Anyway, I picked up my CR to go with my Uly this past week and discovered that after shutdown, the bike makes a quiet beep (just once, not continuous) about ever minute for 5 or so minutes and there is a swooshing sound (like a servo operating) at the top of the engine, near the rear head. What is the sound and what is the servo like operation that is going on? My Uly has never made such a noises, so I would imagine it is associated with the fuel system in the newer/larger frame, but I have not found a thread here that describes what is going on. Anyway, it is good to be here and having an interest in two of Eric's historic models. |

the beep im not sure of, but the swoosh sounds about like the pump keeping the fuel pressure built of like it does for awhile after shut down incase you want to restart it. |

Mine does the same thing, but not every time. Although it does sound like fuel pump purging itself!! |

The beep sound is a part of the fuel cycle. Everything is fine. I am not sure where the beep originates from, but I am certain it is part of the fuel cycle after shutdown. |

I guess you have never driven a Prius, they got all kinds of funky pumps going on after shutdown |

I've got the same thing, but not all of the time, on my '08R. I even set a stopwatch to it, and it was happening at a steady interval of about 31 seconds. It only seems to happen after I have been riding when it is hot out. It happened to me the other day, and once I cycled the key to "On" and then "Off" again after it when through its startup sequence. The fan came back on and the beeping stopped after the fan shut off. |

The 'beep' is just the sound of the fuel pump. Go out in your garage and grab an electric screw driver, and squeeze the trigger only slightly so it spins real slow - you should hear what sounds like a beep while you do it. All normal. |
