This really bites, I was so ready to take on my new CR and now it is raining. What is a girl to do?
Do have a ? also, As I was sitting in the garage making voom voom noises, I was contemplating my seat issue. I wish it was a little softer and a little lower. I can almost go flat foot in my DR Martins but with tennis shoes I am on the balls of my feet. If I convert to the touring seat for the coosh factor will it raise the seat height, and if so how much? Is there a softer shorter option?
I know I could have gone with the lighting but wile the vibration was a joy for a few min it would not be so much fun on a long Sunday ride. Any opinions or ideas?

What's wrong with rain? That shouldn't stop you from riding.

The touring seat adds approximately 1 inch.

"while the vibration was a joy for a few min"............good one. By the way, welcome to the site. Always good to have another member on board with a sense of humor. There are some aftermarket seat people that might be able to help you with a more comfortable seat. Will be tough to get a lower AND softer seat though. I got a nice re-make on my Uly seat from Tobin Seats. A little lower with a different padding material. Might want to try that approach.

well, lowering the seat height and adding comfort is a difficult task. The Custom seat adds height, probably an inch at least. With all the high tech foams out there, I have often wondered if a thinner seat could be constructed that isn't torture after 50 miles.

I'd really like to get a Rick Mayer seat, but they are pricey and I'm not sure if it's THAT much more comfy than the touring seat. Also not sure on how much higher it would be. I think Neil has one. Maybe he'll chime in.

The touring seat will raise the seat height, by 1/2" - 1"+ if I'm not mistaken.

As for a softer/shorter option, check in with Neil (Ccryder). I believe he had a custom seat made for his 1125RT that is softer & shorter.

Picked my 1125CR up at the dealers and rode home in rain gear. It's seriously quick, so be careful with the throttle in the rain. I spun up my tire on Route 1 when I accelerated a bit too hard from 40mph.

Thanks for all the help! I looked up seat cost on eBay last night and I think I am going to buy a spare and do some playing with it. I have not sewn vinyl before but I am always game to try something new. Thanks Mike1 you reinforced my thoughts.
Rode new bike for the first time last night. Fun!
PS this is my first non auto bike
