Jerry...Don't know how long it will take to get there via 45 and forgot via 94. You know the typical Senior Moment. Would like to get there around 10:00 so you pick the departure time. CJM...You say where and we will meet. Anyone else from the area interested??? |

Char...Actually I did not think of the crossreference between #2 and the Miata. It was one of my CA neighbors that pointed it out but it was too late to return the car. Just in case you forgot, MIA is "Missing in Action" and Old Whatsername got the nickname as it was both her first name and had to do with her part time job when we met. Trust me, you will enjoy my book entitled,"I Married My Narc." Many funny stories. |

Dyna, On your front brake, if you haven't figured it out already, you may have to remove the caliper and rotate it to where the probably bubbles align with the bleed screw. I remember someone having to do something similar with an older Buell front brake. Man you folks get yackety when I log off Friday mornings. Had to hit two archived files to catch up. Oh well, back to homework and filling out a job application. yaahoo, whoop de doo, yada yada, bye. |

I wish I could actually get even air bubbles to come out. Master cylinder keeps pushing a shit load of air out. I have the vacuum pump hooked up & can draw fluid, but it refuses to bleed all of the air out. Cany get anyfluid at all to flow thru the line down to the caliper because of the air trapped in the master cylinder. Going to try a few things later today. Pulled the rear tire & fender off yesterday. Rim is getting relaced & fender will be painted. Got lucky with the headlight wiring. When I had the accident the connector for the headlight disconnected & it sits about 5" inside of the backbone of the bike. I couldnt fish it out no matter what I tried. But when I pulled the fender I was able to access the main wiring harness which feeds up the backbone. All harleys are built with basically the same harness & any extra length of wiring is just folded over & jambed in. Had about 12" extra wire that I was able to shove up the backbone & force the connector out. Made my day. What could have been a shitty job with having to cut into the main harness & splicing headlight wires very ez instead. Still have to wire in that damn load equalizer too. I put all the wiring off to the last minute...I hate wiring bikes. |

Awww Dyna...Just remove the front brake entirely. You know real chopper guys don't use or have them. LOL Actually, why not disassemble the whole front brake assembly, purge, clean and reassemble replacing worn parts as you go? |

Hmm Bill not a bad idea...except for 1 minor fact. Everything is brand new except the caliper itself. New mastercylinder, new banjo fittings, new goodrich line. Gonna play with it in a few days. At least today I got the load equalizer wired in & the rear turn signals mounted & wired. Now I just have to clean out the oily rust preventive agent they put in the new tank & then permanently mount it. Its a bitch when all of a sudden you are on the clock. 6 months ago it was like "no problem, plenty of time". Now its "shit!!, times up". |

Well, we have our first track day of the year behind us now. What a great time. I was a little concerned if I'd be able to run as fast as last year. I had been riding a X1 and was very comfortable on it. I have switched to a XB9R Firebolt and figured I'd have to learn to ride all over again. I would've been thrilled to be able to run the same or close lap times on the Bolt for my first time out on it. Well last year my best lap time was a 1 minute 50.19 second lap. I was able to run a 1 minute 46.9 second with the Firebolt. My goal for the year was to take 5 seconds off my times, now that doesn't seem "lofty" enough so my new goal is to get into the 1.43s My boss Doug is doing well also, he beat me twice during the day. Damm turn 7. Craig did the race school so we didn't see him much all day. I had my first "swap some paint" with another rider. Turned out I know the guy. It was Rob, he owns Lithium Motorsports and races CRA. We hit together pretty hard but it wasn't that big of a deal. One less thing to be scared of now! I got to meet a bunch of the KC Mob guys that I hadn't met before. Sam and Frank were in the novice group so I didn't get to ride with them. They had a ball too and I'm sure will be back for more. In all there were 55 riders there. If you haven't done a track day yet, DO IT! -------------------- Ride to the edge!
