Well, I went and procured my new ride Saturday afternoon, a 2009, red Uly XT. Sorry, it wasn't from a sponsor; not many of them around here. Not to mention names, but it was from a dealer just south of KC. Really didn't need to be involved in all the marketing hype of people applauding, as my name was read over the intercom, or ringing a bell. The absolutely best part was having the Buell tech show me how to set up the suspension, and stuff like that. Many thanks to Buell tech David!! Then came the often-eluded-to Permagrin, even as I rode home in the barely 50 degree afternoon. I understand now! What a beast of a bike; the smooth linear power all the way through the tach. The only thing I was missing from my Concours (due to the chill) was the fairing. Anyway, thanks to all of you and BadWeb for the info that lies here-in. You've all made me a believer. Perhaps we'll cross paths sometime. |

You can't be too far from Wichita to meet up sometime. Drop a p.m. to me and let's see what we can do. BTW, congratulations! Bob (Message edited by Ulykan on October 19, 2009) |

Congrats!! I have the same model and year. 10k miles and loving it. You will really be glad you picked one up. Unfortunately I did not get the suspension setup walk through like you did. Sounds interesting. I've managed so far with standard settings for my weight and a little extra preload on the rear. Are there any details you would like to share? I plan on getting some help and doing a complete setup since I'm due for fork oil change anyway. That will part of the 10k service I will be performing myself. Enjoy the ride!!! |
