Thurs- I highsided at 90-100mph coming off the rumble strip out of T-5. Friday- HWTSS I finished 5 out of 7 and turned my fastest lap ever at Road Atlanta. Sat- HWTSB I got smoked by Ducatis. LWTSB while working through slower riders, I lowsided trying to avoid another bike/rider that went down right in front of me. Check the racing section for pictures. |

Hey Laird, A riding buddy of mine was at RA too. I don't recall what kind of bike he races though... But he was in the old-mans race (40+).. He lifted the front wheel at the start, which he thinks set of his tip sensor causing the bike to shut down... He restarted and got back on track with the second wave of starters. His name is Charlie Lifer. |

Sounds like you had an eventful weekend, Laird. Glad it didn't involve any emergency room visits. |

Sanchez, it did involve 2 ER visits. Just to be sure there were no broken bones!! |

Does anyone know if the Buell saddle bags and tail bag for an R model will work on an S model?? I would imagine that they can't be that much different. |

I went out for a ride in the rain today just to mourn for BMC. Can't believe it's actually going down like this. It's a truly special company that HD is murdering in cold blood. I hope Erik finds a way to rise from the ashes, or I'll really feel like the spirit of the American motorcycle is dead as well. Harley bikes are nothing to me but luxury toys for America's wealthy. Buell was the real deal. |

Yep, sad day for sure. Got the call earlier this morning. Knew it wouldn't take long for it to hit the fan on the BadWeb. Eric and all the Buell folks are a class act, hope he's able to get some peeps together and turn this around. On a good note.....here some really cool news. Our very own 3%er Smoke- Tim Ivanoff is down at Daytona practicing for the Team Challenge Daytona race. He was going to just do some practice but then was offered a PAYED...ride to race a friends bike. The rider broke his ankle at Barber at the Michelin Cup race last weekend. Anyway Tim will be racing a GSXR1000 in tomorrows Team Challenge race, it's a 44 lap race thats split up between 2 riders. Wish I was the other one rider, lol! GO SMOKE! |

That's awesome Tim! How did you do?!??! Sux about BMC. Oh, well. I'm numb now. I'm sure there will be enough spares to keep my Buell running till I'm ready to hang it up. Stealth- missed you at BTF. Nice pic. Better than in the mags... |

Well, it is official. I am truckless. The Lightning drove off with its new owner yesterday afternoon. I'm glad the forecast looks good this week because I'll be on two wheels until I find another truck or something. |

That Bar.. Cike... whatthehelleveritis seems to be sitting in a Wal-Mart parking lot... Anyone have any info n my post from a couple days ago about the saddle bags? There was an obvious rift on the board when I posted that with the dropping of Buell.. |

Fran- can you give me a guesstimate on how thick the spacers/washers are below the rear bolts that hold your Crossroads on to the upper triple please?? I looked at the Crossroads installation instructions and I have everything but the spacers. Thanks! |

I'll go out and measure / calibrated eyeball it right now. I do believe they are also beveled, because the bike half isn't flat to the plain of the bottom mounting surface of the Crossroads. |

Odie - They look to be 3/16", and they do not look beveled or tapered, for some reason, I thought they were. Anyways, the the 3/16" spacers / washers bring the aft mounting holes up the same plain as the front. You could put a straight edge on it when you get it apart to double check it. Sorry I wasn't able to get you that test ride with the Crossroads at Buelltoberfest. |

I wish I could get an 1125 right now but oh well..... Thanks Fran. No biggie on the ride. Gonna mount them and see what it rides like. So, the spacers are a flat 3/16" thick. Should be easy to find. Thanks again! |
