I haven't looked that close yet ... is the 1125 fender eliminator a do it yourself project like the XB's are?? Or do you need a specially made part? I see several different ones for sale on eBay. Tidy Tail looks the best but seller claims it may not work with 2009 ??? What is everyone doing to cut the tail of their 1125?

I did mine myself with some creative thinking. It didn't look perfect, but no one has noticed the lack of finishing touches except when looking very closely.

I will try to find the post later.

I did mine with a 07 XB12R tail, easy enough to get at a buell dealer...I believe it was a $60 part, just a little bending of the mounting plate to fit the curve of the under tail and then mount it using the original bolts...even used the orig turn signals...looks great, clean and original...

The tail is now short and the angle of the plate holder is very nice and doesnt get in the way during full compression of suspension...It works VERY nice!

Look the part up at your closest dealer, but prior going, take a good look at your fender...Once you see the picture of the XB12R's fender, it makes sense...20 minute mod!

Ok this is what I did. It would basically be perfect if you could fabricate a better part to fit under the tail section in my opinion.

Jardine has a relatively cheap one at about $70 and it looks pretty good.

Samcol,
If Buell actually made a few of the "race" license plate eliminators they would work perfect with what you did for $30.

+1 on the Jardine.

Easy to install, good quality, low price.

Looks like the Jardine has no license plate light? Or do you just drill out the bottom of the brake light?

The stock tail light has a clear bottom for tag light purposes that is covered by plastic (underside of the tail section). This can be trimmed back with a dremel tool if you would like to illuminate your tag so police can easily identify you.
I believe that Jardine also has an option for a tag light of some sort.

I have the Jardine and it is a nice unit. I just bought 2 license plate bolts which have LED lights built in to them off Ebay for $10 and wired them into the stock wiring for the original license plate light.

Go integrated tail/turn and add a very cheap LED auto light to the lower.

Simply dremel to fit.

Fab the rest. Clean...

I used the stock red lens on mine...but required trimming to mate with aftermarket integrated Tail/Turn.

Still cleaner than the stock stuff...

Has anyone made one that tilts the tag to follow the lines of the tail better?

Inside rather than out to the back?
