CAll their customer service line, get on their facebook page, tweet them, send them letters and alert their stockholders! This is a VERY shortsighted goal, and HD's long-term health is being shorted by them cancelling BUELL, which is their doorway into the youth market. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!! |

I just posted. I probably said things that are a little harsh but damn this is truly upsetting. I was so looking forward to Buell going to AMA Superbike and maybe WSBK someday. I hope and pray for the best for all of the Buell employees and the people that are connected to Buell. |

"What will happen to the Buell motorcycles currently in dealer inventory? Buell dealers will sell remaining motorcycle inventories. There will be no more Buell motorcycles produced." You have got to be f****ing kidding me. Look, I'm sorry, but with both Buell's, and Harley's, attitudes towards Buell customers (I speak from experience) it's an expectable outcome. And their value has been considerably reduced here with the introduction of advanced bikes like the Ducati 1198S and the new BMW superbike that sell here in Oz for just a few thousand more than an 1125R -- but have state-of-the-art features like traction control and heaps more hp. |

Red, so "heaps more hp" is somehow state of the art? I suspect if the good people of Badweb wanted a Ducati, they would have bought one. State of the art... B.S. |

Doesn't anybody READ anymore? READ HD's statements about WHY they're ending Buell and selling MV. READ their reasons. Scrawling graffitti does NOTHING FOR ANYBODY - only hurts your own "cause." Sure, a LOT of us are blind-sided and totally pissed off by all this but all the pissing and moaning on Harley sites is only reinforcing the prejudice about sportbikers being a bunch of juveniles. Address the issues, try to be productive, not destructive. Don't just bitch. It gets tiring and does NOTHING good for you and only shows "THEM" what kind of rider they're "not selling to anymore" by ditching Buell... and certainly DON'T do it on a Harley board unless you are only interested in working against your own interests. |

So Slaughter if we all act as "gentlemen" will the brand be brought back then? It doesn't matter what anyone does, it's over. Once a large company announces a plan to the Street that is it. If you go back on your word you are not seen as in control of your business and you are slaughtered by the Street. Nothing is going to change. They are going to blow out the existing inventory and that is pretty much it. Heck in many of the news summaries Buell isn't even mentioned. They simply state, "HD getting out of sport bike business". So if someone wants to express themselves on Facebook go do it because in a few weeks this "blip" will be gone. My hunch is the HD Board isn't the type to be on FB anyway. |

I bought an 1198s, and yes, i have to say it is state of the art, and very sexy to look at as well. I've done 4 track days on it this season, so i don't baby it, and it's an amazing motorcycle. I also own a 1998 S1w, which i have since new, so im not a Buell basher. |

So digial vandalizing is the answer? Turning an entire segment of the riding public against Buell is the answer? I understand the anger, just not the counterproductive way of expressing it. ...but that's just me. Just because you think HD cut off their nose to spite their face, now is not the time to cut off your OWN nose. |

>>>>It doesn't matter what anyone does, it's over. Yes it does. I'd listen to Slaughter and MikeyP. Those two guys have the cred to back up what they are saying. Hahahahaha . . the thought of Mikey "babying" a bike even made me laugh. |

Slaughter is an awesome guy. I'm still grateful to him for helping me with my bike at the dealership. I totally understand what he's saying, but I think we were just venting and trying to express ourselves. |

+1 Slaughter and Court The way I see it, the best outcome is to convince HD to sell the technology and the tooling, maybe an IPO for a new company. They may not be willing to sell the name, 900, or 1200 motors, but that can be replaced. Keep this in mind when you are talking about or to HD. -John |

Hehe! Thanks Court. Me "babying" my Ducati. http://exposureroom.com/members/Buellie.aspx/asset s/7db4d356349c4da6984b90d714ef16de/ On a side note, i may just be picking up an 1125r. It would be nice to have one next to my S1W. I'll have the best that Buell had to offer, both old, and new. |

I look at it this way, it someone wants to voice their opinion it is their individual right to do so. They may come off looking like a but really who cares? The world is full of dumbasses. If an investment group approaches HD with some serious coin and the ability to execute that transaction HD may bite. They are not going to care one bit about a bunch of pissed off people on FaceBook. Business is business and the dollar talks. (Message edited by hellgate on October 17, 2009) |

If you want to write a letter that might have a good effect, how about this: Ask HD to either sign over Erik Buell's patents to him or grant him the right to use them in perpetuity, royalty-free, on any motorcycle that he produces in a future venture. |

http://www.walworthbusiness.com fred.burkhardt@walworthbusiness.com Fred D. Burkhardt Executive Vice President Walworth County Economic Development Alliance, Inc. (WCEDA) (262) 741-8528 or (262) 741-8530 (262) 741-8529 FAX The county in which Buell (East Troy) resides is trying to KEEP manufacturing, engineering JOBS in their location. If you WANTED to take action, I'd suggest a supportive note to the County. THEY'RE not pissing on HD's lawns to make a point, they're TRYING to do something to avoid the loss. They don't care whose colors are on the door - they just want the jobs (AND TAXES!!) |
