Well it's just like if the love of my life kicked me out without a warning. Never thought I would feel like that for a company. I felt in love and passionate with Buell the first time I test road one in 99 it was a X1 and ever since I could never stop wanting one until I got my 09 xb12Scg. I to hope that Erik will rise again and start something else without H-D, I was always thinking of buy one of the H-D cruiser when I would be tired of sport bikes but now no fnway no more H-D. My baby will stay with me for ever and I will be looking for at least one S1 and maybe other models to bring in my garage next to my xb |

+1 Js_buell How about 124ci S1? (124ci for ease of getting insurance), Titanium for frame (you have to make it wider), swing arm and wire rims? Christopher |

Since the motor was designed by Rotax for the 1125's, does Harley still own the rights to that as well? Don't mean to open it up if it has already been answered. How many think he'll put another air cooled motor in because I believe someone will pick him up or he may just start anew. It's a hard kick in the nuts now, but eventually that initial pain becomes more like a ghost pain and I think he will get his bearings and make Harley wish they had never dropped Buell! We have a Coke...now we need a Pepsi!! |

I went to my dealer today. He got the news via phone call from a friend telling him to check the internet. He was still smiling despite the fact that he runs a dedicated Buell shop- no Harleys. He has 6 on the shop floor and personally owns 5 other Buells. What to do??? |

Are we all supposed to join the "old school buell" area now? Court posted in the superbike area and sounds like he has a pretty positive outlook on this whole thing... That put me in a little better mindset... |

quote:In my opinion. If you bought a Buell for the right reasons, you wouldn't care about resell value; because you wouldn't sell it.
True that. But....everybody likes to think they got a good deal on whatever car, boat, bike, ect. they bought. People that bought Buells the day before yesterday, don't have that feeling with the reports of fire sale prices popping up. |

I picked up an flht in June as a big brother to the Buell. I'm thinking about selling and going with a Victory. That is how I feel about Harley-Davidson right about now. |

Yeah, I may just delete my iron 1200 (took the piddley 883 out)at the bottom of a lake. Alot of man-hours on the bike, but at least the fish will have better use of it as a home. That makes more room for my XB12scg in the garage!!! |

Anyone with Pending HD orders PLEASE CANCEL THEM FAWK HD. as the evening has progressed, I've gotten more and more angry over this Funny thing is, I own a Saturn Sky and I'm keeping it and it hasn't affected me as much. This, however, burns me to no end Buell has put out some of the most amazing motorcycle technology in the past couple of years but HD is satisfisfied to peddle their outdated sh!t and push their inferior motorcycles and non american branded clothes and non motorcycle crap. Congrats Japan I hope you bury HD. |

Elff, don't worry, Japan will. I'd give them 20 years max. I know when I'm 45, I sure as hell won't want a HD. Still be riding my Buell with 100k + miles by then. FU HD. |

A poster yesterday brought up a point I had not thought about, since Eric should be free of all HD and Buell strings maybe he can start a new motorcycle co. Eric please go down to New Zealand and re make the Britten at a price we can all afford !!!! |

The Britten would be nice! It's also different enough that he wouldn't be infringing on the technology that he made for HD. |

one funny note: harley says all things about america and american products. Then why and the heck do they get so much made in china? get out you gear clothes and ect and look at the tags. look at the forks the chain the belts the brakes and ect all are made in china. a top of the line Yamaha cruiser is 19000.00 that has more bells and whistles better power and overall a better bike much cheaper than a greaser glide with 3 times the warranty. may some how buell get saved. I dont even care if it goes rotax only. as long as it lives. i know mine will live with all aftermarket parts from know on when needed. |

YEP, If I ever desire a cruiser it will be Victory or a metric. I doubt neither has nearly as much two faced, hypocritical, double standard, back stabbing, sell your grandma for a dollar B.S. which seems to be HD's forte. |

I for one cannot believe that Warren Buffet did not wade into this shitstorm and tell HD to think again. He owns their asses. I do not believe that W.Buffet is this short sighted. |

The 1125 was already a production engine built by BPR rotax. They actually have there version which was made before the buell version. It has a quad intake same hp same Tq slight ly different. just like they have a open version up for grabs the 990 with slight less Tq and hp more revs. If Erik can get out on his own he can create a new bike. I would personally build a 990 due to Insurance specs for the younger crowd. Below 1000CC the insurance cost drops a lot opening up more of a marketplace. I will buy a first year model just out of spite if he can pull it off. |

I doubt that is the case. In the corporate world fanatical protection of all things company is normal. I'd bet Erik's hands are tied with non-disclosure and non-competition agreements. |

If there will be no more Buells produced, there will be no competition to worry about. Does anyone know if the copyrights will expire? Yes, it is a frustrating time for us enthusiasts, but on the positive side, we could possibly finally make the stickers, posters, t-shirts, banners, etc. that we've all been wanting, but never have been able to get a hold of. |

Good point, but did Harley breach those agreements by shutting Buell down? I sure hope so! |

In another note, do Victory ever consider producing a sport bike?, we all know that MV Agusta is for sale and it comes with heritage, prestige and a already developed motor or they can use one their own motors, so it will be a win-win situation for them and they've the factory already in place. I understand that this are tought times for any industry but let's don't forget that fortune are made in a recession |

Erik worked with BRP to make the 1125 happen right? What about a partnership with them to keep on building Buell? I hope he finds a way to keep building bikes. Doesn't matter who he works with or how he does it I will take my business there happily. |
