Oh forget it. Its damn near 30 degrees outside. I just heard on NPR that we are expecting up to 10 inches of snow tonight. |

Brent and crew, we're checking on some test-n-tune time at Gingerman. Closer, better track. Will be in touch.I bailed on Grattan as well, spider-sense was firing all week, things just wouldn't come together. |

Dear Windy city members,Brent, Fly,I just got off the phone with TEAM CHICAGO (9:30PM)and they've rescheduled Grattan for this weekend(4/11,4/12)and would like all who signed up to attend. Weather should be mid-60's, partly both days! Oh Hell,YEAH. DOG |

I was at Gratten last weekend, and they opened the track to those that showed. I was wondering if they would reschedule. There was only about 25 idiots like me that showed. I don't know about this weekend. |

Twodogs, thanks for the info. The forecast for Grand Rapids through this weekend is 54 High / 33 Low with 20% chance of rain. Sounds encouraging. Not so sure Brent has thawed out yet. Don't know if I can make Grattan this weekend due to family plans. I'll see what can be rescheduled and get back with decision by Thursday. I really do have the bug for a track day, especially since I also bailed last week. This was published elsewhere on BBW yesterday, but sure gets the cold winter blood pumping again. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/OHR/Practice%20030405/MOV00008.MPG |

It would be cool if we could get together. I can't believe I actually had two open weekends in a row. I too have extra-large family obligations( Brent can testify). Hope to see some fellow Buellers there so I don't have to listen to a bunch of pro-japanese slanderous talk about f-ing harleys by myself! Credit to sen~or dictator for his perseverence. I'm ashamed of myself for staying home in a warm house |

Twodogs, not looking real promising for me right now, but I'm working every angle (and I'm not done trying). Hope to see you at Grattan this weekend, but if I can't make it, have fun. Do you think I'll have problems finding a (reasonable price) motel room close to the track if I were to arrive there at the last minute? |

Well, we have our first track day of the year behind us now. What a great time. I was a little concerned if I'd be able to run as fast as last year. I had been riding a X1 and was very comfortable on it. I have switched to a XB9R Firebolt and figured I'd have to learn to ride all over again. I would've been thrilled to be able to run the same or close lap times on the Bolt for my first time out on it. Well last year my best lap time was a 1 minute 50.19 second lap. I was able to run a 1 minute 46.9 second with the Firebolt. My goal for the year was to take 5 seconds off my times, now that doesn't seem "lofty" enough so my new goal is to get into the 1.43s My boss Doug is doing well also, he beat me twice during the day. Damm turn 7. Craig did the race school so we didn't see him much all day. I had my first "swap some paint" with another rider. Turned out I know the guy. It was Rob, he owns Lithium Motorsports and races CRA. We hit together pretty hard but it wasn't that big of a deal. One less thing to be scared of now! I got to meet a bunch of the KC Mob guys that I hadn't met before. Sam and Frank were in the novice group so I didn't get to ride with them. They had a ball too and I'm sure will be back for more. In all there were 55 riders there. If you haven't done a track day yet, DO IT! -------------------- Ride to the edge! Windy city bragers! I'm not sure if theres someone in your club with a sweet sounding silver manta ray tank S1 thats was bombing through Chicago on I94 at 4am Saturday morning, but if there is, Tell him the guy with in the white pick up with the S1 race bike in the back apologizes for almost swapping paint! He snuck up on me from behind just when i was changing lanes....Sweet sounding bike though (especially through the tunnel)! Made my night/morning. Regards, Wes |

DaveS, You've always been a terror. I've ridden with (or more correctly, behind) you, and now it sounds like you've notched it up! Based on your description of "collision", it sounds like you were stuffing someone (again) on the inside. Does XB color-impregnated plastic hold up pretty good after another bike smacks upside it....or did your outside peg gouge his bike ?? he,he |

Yes I was "stuffing" it on the inside. Just left a little paint from his Jardine pipe on the oil cooler scoop. He said my elbow got him in the kidney pretty hard. Ride to the edge! Chi: I'm not sure I have time this year. My weekends are already full through August. These two dates look viable: July 5-7 September 26-29 September would make a good fall colors ride. The weather is usually dry. But as Llyod Christmas says in Dumb & Dumber "Got a little nippy back there going through the pass, eh Har?" Trying to say it could get a little chilly |

I'll have to work on the 4th. The non-pre-wife on my end may have some plans for me. I can get out of work on Monday the 7th because I work on the 4th. |
