Thanks Wes for the congrats! It is way cool. I still can't believe it! Live up to my name, I don't know? At least now I will be able to keep up with the big boys! Joe- Congrats again on the engagement. Andi is getting a very cool guy (shhh... don't tell my husband I said that). You might want to rethink inviting my better half to the wedding... He CAN get a bit out of control! -yellow |

Wes, It is a tour of HDU. Harley training center at the main office in Milwaukee. From the south take 94 west into milwaukee and follow towards madison. Exit 35th st north. Take 35th st. north to juneau ave. Turn left. Juneau will dead end after two blocks. Turn left and then park in the first lot on the right. There is a conference center entrance right off of that parking lot. See everyone tonight. |

Blurrrrr.....yea, tell me about it! that girl has it too good. Can't wait till she starts working so i can retire. She was paniced all last week that i would accidentally kill the dog with exhaust fumes or leave her outside by accident...woops! gotta go.... You know, Court, I have never been to NYC proper....might be a good week for it! No fun around the garage since i ran out of nitrous and methanol. How did the HDU tour go????? Wes P.S. ref any resemblence between the two Andies....I have also noticed Joe has a strong resemblence to the lead singer from the smashing pumpkins and Bomber looks suspiciously like Peter Egan. |

The tour was very interesting! Thanks to Johnny Mikosh for setting it up. We briefly walked through the whole lab/school area and quickly ended up in the Buell Tech Lab. We also took a quick look at there dyno room that they use for all the bikes. John (an HD instructor that Johnny set the tour up with) introduced us to Gary Nevile (sp?). He is the head Buell Tech instructor and was originally hired by Erik to work for Buell back in '94. He shared some good stories about R&D for the motors for the '95(I think) and up bikes. He also showed us how their computer diagnostic system works. He had the computer hooked up to a 9S (yellow, for those that would ask). We were able to see how they can test relays, adjust a/f mixture, and more right from a laptop. He also had a bunch of the parts for an XB for us to look at. Including the swing arm, frame, axle, and front wheel. Explained how they decided on the permiter brake for the XB. Buell, and Harley, both use a lot of computer load generation in there R&D and it was interesting to hear about some of the processes. Apparantely the oil in the swing arm idea was originally developed for the S1. When it was proposed on Badweb and ATC, Gary was saying what a backlash of comments they received. The tour was very interesting and well worth the time. A big thank to John and Gary at HDU for their time! |

I am officially upset with disposable cameras. I broke my olympus and bought a fugi disp. for snapshots. Of course I didn't expect super high quality, but I had hoped for at least 75% of the images to turn out... Looks like a new camera for me. Maybe I can talk Andi into an "engagement camera". Does that kind of logic work? anyway, here's the ONE photo that came out OK....
