Anybody have a pair of riding pants (leather or textile) that my girlfriend could barrow for the big ohio ride? I'd really rather her be in some sort of armor, and I don't know if Iron Pony is in the cards right now. Any sort of riding pants, or over pants will do. Something like a womens small or medium? Mine are mens small, but they're to tight in the hip region. Lemme know! |

I can't do it. I've already used up all my vacation time, and I don't get any 'sick' days. If it's a tuesday I'd be in for a noon or later ride. I'm out of school every tuesday by 11:00, and don't have any work after that. Turns out the girl is getting a big commission pay check this friday and is ready to get to the pony and buy up some riding pants! EXCELLENT! |

Pictures from my ride: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikef5000/sets/721576 22391980883/ I had a good ride, and I think everyone else did as well. Started with 30 bikes, which was great! About 5 Buells, 3 Ducatis, a few BMW's, and a handful of Harleys and Goldwings. The Harleys pulled out behind me leaving Pickerington, and I was fully expecting (and they were too) the sport bike guys to pass them up before we got to the twistys. I'm not really sure why no one ever did. Anyway, hopefully you guys had fun! Don't forget, the Euro Bike Night guys do a great 'Haunted Poker Run' ever year, and it's coming up 2 weeks from today. You MUST RSVP to their ride though! I emailed their information earlier this week but lemme know if you need it again. Thanks everyone that showed up! We'll do more next year for sure. |

Mike, thanks for organizing the trip. My wife and I did have a good ride and it was a beautiful day. It was an eclectic group of bikes for sure! Yeah, we 1125ers could have smoked the HDs, but some of us native south-easterners get to ride the twisties all the time and it was a fun change just to ride with a group. No worries. |

Likewise, thanks for organizing the routes. We'll have to plan on one (or more) of these again next year. Nice to meet you and your wife...Brian. |

So one of the corners in the loop surprises me every time. I think it's the last of a series, and is a decreasing radius?!? Anyway, both times I've done this loop I've hit that one a little quicker than the rest and had to lean a bit more. This past trip (with the group) I heard a little scrapy scrapy through that corner. I checked it out afterward and found it was the kickstand. We today I noticed it was not only the kickstand, but also the belly pan AND the muffler! Like you can see on the side of Marks belly pan here: I did tighten up the suspension before the ride, but maybe I'll go one kick higher next time?! All I know is that I successfully reached maximum lean angle, 2-up, and felt comfortable doing it! We were both leaning in, but not hanging off. I think 2-up takes 'spirited' riding to a whole new level. Now I REALLY want to do a track day 2-up to see what we (and the bike) are capable of. We've got to learn how to hang-off more though before that. I keep looking at this picture of an Scg, and how much more lean angle would be needed to hit the muffler/belly pan!

Mike, Are you referring to the curve just after Ash Cave on SR56? That series of curves always catch me by surprise.

any suggestions for the location of our next meeting on the 7th?? Nobody responded.... so I'm gonna be in a tree looking for a 8 point buck that keeps showing up behind my house. Once the snow starts, we should have a cabin fever event of some kind.... |

It would have been hard for me to ride over, that pesky broken foot is been a pain in the rear ya know! I did try and take her out a couple of weekends ago for a lap around the town BUT it was clear I really shouldn't be doing this by the pain. Funny thing is I rode the KLR and had less of a problem other than getting on and off. I guess the the seating is a big factor in it. The KLR sit more like a ULY and less like a rocket. I decided that if it was still this tender I best stay off, after all if I had to take a hard Dab with that foot I'd in all likelyhood by laying in the street as I think it fold up on me. I'm hoping in a couple of weeks to get back in the saddle. Hey Mark good luck on that 8 pointer. That'd be ONE less I'll have to dodge at night! |

So I guess we failed on our normal first wednesday meeting for this month.... Does anyone want to get together this month? Or just pass this one off as a break? What about the Eurotrash bike night ride? Anyone going? Oh, and for all of you wondering my bike is back together and running after the spark plug incident. Jts lik Masa'a my rear cyl spark plug decided to eject itself while riding. I will be road ready by Sunday. We all should try to make one more group effort ride before the season ends for most of us... (Message edited by arctic9r on October 09, 2009) |

I'm going on the Euro Bike Night Ride. It's a great ride, but not a high speed / high thrills ride. Just a good time with good people and good destinations. I don't know what the cemetery ride is, but I work on Saturdays so I'm out. |

The Cemetery Ride is at night.... scary... they go to cemetery's for a poker run and ride in costume... and have a party after. Its fun... I would love to go to the Devils Staircase... I haven't been in years, But I should stay home with the wife. I taught 13 msf/riders edge classes this year plus worked every 3rd Saturday. The 2 weekends that I did have off this summer were spent at Mid Ohio and the WV Buell Rally. Take some pics and post them up!! I love the smell of nitro in that valley! |

More details on the Cemetery ride! I googled it to no avail. Sounds interesting! I was planning on heading down to the Pumpkin Show that night, but this sounds better. Update about this Sunday's Euro Haunted Bike Ride! The meeting point has changed! We will now be meeting at Caribou Coffee at the corner of W. Lane Ave. and Northwest Blvd. (2468 Northwest Blvd, Columbus OH). Leaving time is still 10:00, but the Marathon is in that area, so plan on arriving early. |

OHIO RIDE TO BUELL! Copied from my email: In a last ditch effort to see the business (in it's current state) as well as attempt to extend my condolences as well as appreciation, I am making my every effort to get to East Troy. Here's my plan, if anyone else is interest, I'd LOVE company. Leave Columbus Sunday Oct. 25th; morning Arrive in East Troy Sunday evening Stay in a hotel/motel Spend as much time as possible at Buell Monday morning. Ride back Monday afternoon/evening. That means we're looking at about 500 miles a day, two days in a row. It may be a bit uncomfortable, and a bit emotional. But I think I can get the work off, so I think I'm going for it. |

Mike you are nuts... I think you should see how much more of this pans out and plan accordingly. The big portion of the employee final date of employment is Dec. 18th 2009. I would go but not just to go there and then turnaround and come back. |

Mike you are nuts... I think you should see how much more of this pans out and plan accordingly. Seems to me, if nothing more pans out, then it goes on as planned with the "Condolences and appreciation" ride, and if the silver lining is exposed, then it goes on as a "congrats and we're here to support!" ride. |

I am toying with the idea, but I don't think back to back 500 mile days in December through Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin is reasonably feasible. |
