I have to wonder how that's going to affect the warranty, especially as parts become unobtainable. Stock up now and start with a service manual. This site is very valuable now, it will become invaluable for parts info in the future. Make a list of what needs replacing often and go shopping. |

It figures. I thought my XT was going to be my long term ride. Looks like it'll be a Studebaker now. I don't think hard parts will be an issue, but consumables may get difficult to obtain since aftermarket support isn't that great. Guess I shoulda kept the KLR. But there is an upside, Buell fanatics can join the ranks of the Indian, EH, Norton, and extinct motorcycle lovers and bemoan the death of real motorcycles. I'm thinking dealer inventory just took a 50% hit in value. Except for a few diehards, who wants to buy a sportbike that's been discontinued. I think the new Buell owners Erik spoke of will be nonexistent. Some where down the line Buell stuff will be hitting the mark down table and folks will clean up on ebay. |

I bought a Used blast in Late July, 3 weeks later Eric crushed the Blast. I bought a Used Uly 3 weeks ago, and now this. Why don't they just give Buell Back to Eric? |

Hmmm - BUMMER! Perhaps there is a way Buell can salvage the company by other strategic alliances? Going to be tough in this economic environment over the next few years. Motorcycles are not 'necessities' for most folks. We maybe the exception. Is there some Fed requirement that they gotta make parts available for 5 years after discontinuing production ? Bet Dr Greg is REAL happy about his decision to buy the "deer slayer' as a source of parts for his 'new' 06 Uly. j |

Wanna buy mine? All of a sudden it seems like a $6702 paper weight with wheels. Not as sexy today as it was yesterday. No wonder I got blew off on a warranty. |

My God, I still owe 10K on a 08X....I guess i'll not be getting a new bike for awhile.... now it becomes clear why the salesman yesterday gave me a run around when i asked about trading in my X for a 2010 XT...because to him my X wasnt worth the gas that was in the tank... |

well, I WAS looking at buying an 1125CR. I might still do it, but now only at firesale pricing at my local dealership. I'm pissed, if you look at the numbers, Buell held their own percentage wise over HD. HD sales were way down compared to Buell sales year over year. Gotta make you wonder what it was that caused this. And does anybody think somebody is going to pay HD anything for MV now? dumb, dumb, dumb... HD really has their head screwed on backwards, especially if they want and need to get younger riders aboard. Wayne |

Look how many Harley shops have dropped buell over the summer. This fits right in. What gets me is that Harley said they will honor the warranty that we have on our new bikes. The issue is, can the dealer "drop" Buell and then no longer be responsible to honor that warranty? I would guess all that dropped Buell up until 10-14 would be off the hook, but those that stuck it out till today would now not have that option. Any thoughts? My guess is the Harley shops that stayed on board, were probably the ones that still had inventory. Or they see themselves as the potential clearing houses on leftover inventory that may be shipped to them for a discount. |

WOW! I was ready to buy an '09 Uly TODAY!!!! Guess I'd better reconsider that purchase. In the past few days I've ridden several bikes from an '09 concours to an '09 FatBob and quite a few in between, and by far the best ride was the Uly -- I REALLY wanted to buy this bike, but now I think it may be a foolish decision. This REALLY bums me out. |

My condolences to Erik and the elves. This has to be a sad day for all of you. As an owner with more than half of the payments to HD Credit left to make, I'm feel rather sorry for myself (and the other owners) too. I'm half tempted to let HD repo the thing....of course I won't but the idea has some appeal right now... (Message edited by rwven on October 15, 2009) |

Hey - now we all own a rare 'collectors' item. Always wanted an Indian - now I got a Buell instead. Sorry for those that had 'em up for sale though...The 'collectors' value may not take hold for awhile. |
